That's all for this live page so don't miss our European Football index later on when we will have a report on this match.

It was Lionel Messi's big day and of course he didn't disappoint. He was superb with two goals and one assist on the day he levelled Xavi's record of most Barcelona appearances.

Antoine Griezmann and Oscar Mingueza also scored to help Barca move above Real Madrid into second, closing in on leaders Atletico.

Until next time, bye for now.

Barcelona won't be winning the Champions League but could still be celebrating a league and cup domestic double. They face Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final in mid April and are now only four points off Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

    Barcelona 4-1 Huesca

Two goals for Lionel Messi plus others from Antoine Griezmann and Oscar Mingueza give Barcelona a 4-1 win that takes them above Real Madrid and into second in La Liga, four points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.

Huesca, who scored a hugely dubious penalty from Rafa Mir in first-half stoppage time, stay bottom and it is very much a deserved win for Barca.

    Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

    Another one for Lionel Messi.

A quick attack started off by Martin Braithwaite, he gives it to Riqui Puig and he runs forward before playing it wide right to Messi.

He cuts inside, shoots at goal from 25 yards out and for the second time today scores with a lovely curling strike from outside the penalty area.

Two goals and one assist on the day Messi equalled Xavi's record of 767 Barcelona appearances.

Another two changes for Barcelona - Martin Braithwaite on for Ousmane Dembele and Riqui Puig for Pedri.

    Barcelona 3-1 Huesca

If Rafa Mir had managed to score with an open goal from a few yards out then it would've set up an exciting finish but this one has a going-through-the-motions feel to it.

    Five to go.

  7. Keeping it realpublished at 82 mins

    Barcelona 3-1 Huesca

It's fifth-placed Real Sociedad away from home next up for Barcelona next Sunday then a week off for the international games.

When Barcelona get back in action it's two games - home v Real Valladolid on 4 April followed by the small matter of El Clasico against Real Madrid, away from home, on 11 April.

Pedri slides it to Trincao in the penalty area but a heavy first touch sees the chance evaporate for Barcelona as the ball is smuggled clear.

    Barcelona 3-1 Huesca

Nearly a fourth for Barcelona. Pedri, another hugely talented Barcelona youngster and soon to be a Spain international after his first senior call-up earlier today, slides a pass through for Lionel Messi.

Huesca goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez sprints out of his box and Messi hurdles him and from a tight angle, and with two defenders in the way of the goal, tries to lob the ball into the net but gets just too much on it and it goes just over.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Barcelona 3-1 Huesca

Frenkie de Jong hit the bar earlier on for Barcelona and he is the first man to be replaced by Barca boss Ronald Koeman. On comes Ronald Araujo after he had missed the past three matches through injury.

  13. WHAT A MISS!published at 59 mins

    Barcelona 3-1 Huesca

It is a shocking, shocking, shocking miss. One of those ones where it looks easier to score for Huesca.

A cross is headed back across goal and Rafa Mir, who has one goal already, should score. He is almost underneath the crossbar with an open goal and all he has to do is get his head on to it.

For some reason he misjudges his jump, the ball bounces up off his chest and goes inches over the top. That would've made it interesting.

  14. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 3-1 Huescapublished at 53 mins

    Oscar Mingueza (Barcelona)

His first goal for the club.

Lionel Messi with a cross from the left touchline, given so much time, and it finds defender Oscar Mingueza, who makes a superb leap to power a header into the net from six yards out. Huesca had fallen asleep there, and it has cost them.

    Barcelona 2-1 Huesca

Barcelona have a free-kick 35 yards out and Lionel Messi tries his luck, but the wall does its job, with the ball flicking up off a head and Huesca goalkeeper Alvaro Fernandez comes off his line to collect the ball.

    Barcelona 2-1 Huesca

The first yellow card of the day goes to Huesca's Dani Escriche, for a swinging arm that catches Barcelona's Oscar Mingueza in the face.

    Barcelona 2-1 Huesca

So that very, very generous penalty (I've seen it half a dozen times and it still looks a shocking decision) has given us more of a contest than we expected.

Can Huesca fight back and deny Barcelona a win?

The hosts are unbeaten in 16 league games (13 wins and three draws) and it would be some story if that run ends at home against the bottom of the table side and after having a two-goal lead.

Of course, Barcelona could go on and score a few more.

  19. More injury problems for Real's Hazardpublished at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 15 March 2021

Real Madrid are in Champions League action tomorrow when they take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their last-16 tie against Atalanta. But they will do so without ex-Chelsea man Eden Hazard after the Belgium forward's latest injury setback.

Hazard, 30, made his comeback from a muscle problem in Saturday's 2-1 win over Elche, coming on for the final 15 minutes. However, he will now miss Tuesday's Champions League home last-16 second leg with Atalanta.

"It's something new. I can't really give any more of an explanation," said Zidane.

Hazard has made 25 La Liga appearances since joining Los Blancos from Chelsea in 2019 but has struggled with injuries during his time at the club.

"Something's up, because he was never injured in his entire career [before joining Real] or there were very few injuries," added Zidane. "We want to help him and hope he's back as soon as possible. They're things I can't explain. I want to be positive and hope that it's not too much of a problem."

  20. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 2-1 Huescapublished at 45 mins

    Rafa Mir (Huesca, penalty)

In the last action of the first half, Huesca, with what seemed a hugely generous penalty, have a glimmer of hope.

Rafa Mir, on loan from Wolves, sticks the spot-kick into the corner to halve Barcelona's lead.
