The Republic of Ireland had 21 shots tonight, just two fewer than they managed in their three previous 2022 World Cup qualifiers combined (11 v Luxembourg, six v Portugal and six v Serbia).

Serbia beat Luxembourg 4-1 in the group's other game.

Not that any Irish fans should even be worrying about results elsewhere at this stage.

Serbia and Portugal are on 10 points, Luxembourg are on six and the Irish and Azerbaijan have one each.
