  1. Quiz: Name these one-cap England players

    Wayne Rooney

Quick quiz before we start the second half...

Representing your country is the dream come true for a footballer.

Wearing the England shirt is an achievement in itself, even if it was just once.

So how's your memory? Can you fill in our list of England's one-cap players since 1995?

    Head here to play

  2. Was Hungary penalty the right call?

    England 1-1 Hungary

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Former England keeper Rob Green on BBC Radio 5 Live: "I don't think Luke Shaw was expecting the Hungary player to put his head in there. I thought at first it was harsh but then when you see the replay he is very high and kicks him in the head."

Ex-England defender Matt Upson: "I felt it was harsh. He won the ball clearly and it was the follow through that caught the player in the head."

  3. Get Involved

    #bbcfootball

Andrew Morris: Can I try some reverse mockers? Kane's been rather anonymous tonight. He's not in the game at all. And Grealish had to get a shot off then; a wasted opportunity. Pep's right; Grealish needs to get a finishing touch to be truly world-class.

Jacob Bessent: Oliver Skipp would 100% improve This England team

  4. Post update

    England 1-1 Hungary

    Rob Green

Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

England have begun to play a bit quicker. They have just sped their play up a bit and once they did that then they started to look more dangerous.

  5. HALF-TIME

    England 1-1 Hungary

England respond well to falling behind but plenty of room for improvement in the second half.

  6. CLOSE!

    England 1-1 Hungary

This would have been the perfect time to score, as they say.

Into the one minute of additional time in the first half, Luke Shaw hangs a cross to the back post for Raheem Sterling to head at goal which is pushed out by Peter Gulacsi and the Manchester City forward side-foots wide the follow-up.

  7. Post update

    England 1-1 Hungary

One minute to half-time, Gareth Southgate will be 4/10 pleased so far.

  8. Washington puts Northern Ireland ahead

Conor Washington has notched for Northern Ireland to give them the lead in Sofia against Bulgaria.

The decision went to VAR but the 29-year-old Charlton forward has got his sixth international goal.

Elsewhere in Europe, Dusan Vlahovic has put Serbia in front against Azerbaijan. As it stands that sees the hosts leapfrog back to the top of Group A, above Portugal.

Meanwhile, Breel Embolo and Renato Steffen have given Switzerland a healthy two-goal lead against Lithuania.

  9. Post update

    England 1-1 Hungary

England have another free-kick down the right, again Phil Foden is the man to put it into the mixer but this time gets his angles wrong and Peter Gulacsi is out to collect.

  10. Post update

    England 1-1 Hungary

    Why did he cut back???

Raheem Sterling plays a precise pass to Jack Grealish on the edge of the box and the Man City midfielder drifts into the box.

He beats his man with a lovely turn to open up the angle for a shot, but decides to come back onto his left foot and then loses possession.

    Poor decision-making that.

  11. Post update

    England 1-1 Hungary

    Matt Upson

Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

England responded well to going behind and it's good to have the test sometimes - you can't expect every game to go to plan. Getting that goal before half-time helps a lot.

  12. England get the lift they need

    Phil McNulty

BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

England had just started to apply some pressure after the shock of falling behind and John Stones has provided the perfect tonic. England are turning up the tempo and starting to win free-kicks in dangerous areas, one of which brought the goal after another foul on Jack Grealish,

  13. GOAL - England 1-1 Hungary

    John Stones

    Equaliser!

Thirteen minutes after falling behind, England draw level.

Phil Foden whips in a dangerous free-kick, it clips the back off Declan Rice and sails all the way to the back post for defender John Stones sticking a boot out to convert.

Relief for the home side and the supporters inside Wembley erupt.

    Stones scores

Gareth Southgate has been out to the touchline, defender John Stones has been across to the touchline.

  18. Post update

    England 0-1 Hungary

Jack Grealish goes nose to nose with Zsolt Nagy, unhappy with a late tackle from the Hungary left-back.

Bit of handbags between the two.

    England 0-1 Hungary

Hungary are in charge at the moment, if it remains this way until half-time Gareth Southgate will be making a change or two to wrestle back a bit of control.
