  1. RED CARDpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Preston

Things not going well for Preston now as they're reduced to 10 men against Middlesbrough.

Alan Browne is given his marching orders for a clash with Sam Morsy.

Morsy seems to go down pretty easily after Browne's arm made contact, replays show. That looked harsh.

  2. League One latestpublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Peterborough celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Peterborough have gone in front against managerless Portmsouth through a Rasmus Nicolaisen own goal.

Second-placed Posh are hoping to end a three-game sequence without a victory.

Plenty of goals at The Valley - Bristol Rovers went 2-0 up, but Andrew Shinne has just pulled a goal back for Charlton on 33 minutes.

Elsewhere, in-form Burton lead at Blackpool, Gillingham are still 2-0 up at Lincoln, MK Dons lead Plymouth and Oxford United are in front against Doncaster.

  3. Postpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Preston

Preston pressing for a leveller against Middlesbrough as Tom Barkhuizen looks to pull them back into this game.

He tries his luck with an effort from long range but he can't quite hit the target as it sails wide of the mark.

  4. Postpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Cardiff 0-0 Stoke

Steven Fletcher is able to walk from the field, fortunately, as Stoke are indeed forced to bring Sam Vokes on in his place.

A relief to hear he's okay after a clash of heads midway through the first half against Cardiff.

  5. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 0-2 Watfordpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Ismaila Sarr (26 mins)

You can't give Watford's attackers that much space.

Nathaniel Chalobah sees an effort well-saved by Rotherham keeper Jamal Blackman but the ball falls for Ismaila Sarr who leaves nothing to doubt, smashing the ball in.

The second-placed Hornets continue to impress.

  6. Postpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Cardiff 0-0 Stoke

A break in play at the Cardiff City Stadium as Steven Fletcher goes down.

Sam Vokes looks to be getting ready in case Stoke need to make an early substitution.

  7. goal

GOAL: Derby 0-2 Brentfordpublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Sergi Canos (23 mins)

To say that was coming would be an understatement.

It's a lovely, lovely move. Ivan Toney to Bryan Mbeumo, who beats a Derby defender and finds Sergi Canos, who finishes low past Kelle Roos.

The movement is so high-quality and Brentford look incredibly good.

  8. goal

GOAL: Luton 1-0 Coventrypublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    James Bree (23 mins)

Harry Cornick puts in a lovely cross from the left and his Luton team-mate James Bree is there to volley in.

It's his first senior goal, coming almost seven years after his senior debut.

It squeezed past Coventry keeper Ben Wilson, who may feel he should've kept it out.

  9. Postpublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Derby 0-1 Brentford

    Brentford are absolutely dominant.

Birthday boy Ivan Toney already has one goal and sees a volley beaten away by Derby keeper Kelle Roos, with Bryan Mbeumo's rebound blocked.

Wayne Rooney needs to change something because his side are wilting.

  10. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 1-0 Prestonpublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Jordan Storey own goal (22 mins)

Dear oh dear. A howler that will be repeated for years to come, here.

Despite Preston's promising start, they go a goal down against Middlesbrough as Jordan Storey slices Yannick Bolasie's cross into his own net.

I'm shocked he managed that as he was at an angle and had his back to goal.

  11. League One latestpublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

Third-placed Lincoln have gone 2-0 down at home to Gillingham as their season continues to stutter.

The Imps had won only one of their past six matches heading into tonight's game at Sincil Bank.

Managerless Charlton are a goal behind at home to Bristol Rovers - Luke Leahy with a penalty on 18 minutes.

And Oxford United have just taken the lead against fellow promotion-hopefuls Doncaster - Matt Taylor with the goal.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Preston

End to end stuff here and now it's Preston's turn to take the game to Middlesbrough!

Sepp van den Berg gets the space to try his luck with a shot that cannons off the crossbar and over.

  13. Postpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Luton 0-0 Coventry

For the second time Max Biamou beats the Luton offside trap but again the Coventry striker fails to convert.

He gets on the end of Matty James' pass but slices his effort wide with only Simon Sluga to beat.

  14. CLOSE!published at 19:19 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Derby 0-1 Brentford

Mathias Jensen finds Bryan Mbeumo in acres of space but the Brentford forward skews his shot wide of the near post.

The Frenchman had plenty of time to pick his spot and that goes down as a big miss.

Derby could've been out of this already.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Cardiff 0-0 Stoke

Great stuff from Dillon Phillips to deny Stoke the opener in this one as the Cardiff keeper pulls off a sensational save.

Rhys Norrington-Davies eventually works the ball to Jordan Thompson who plays Nick Powell through to set up Fletcher before Phillips saves and then the hosts clear Thompson's follow-up effort off the line.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Luton 0-0 Coventry

The woodwork has been hit not once, not twice but three times at Kenilworth Road.

First Luton's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall swings in a free-kick, which Max Biamou slices onto his own post before Kyle McFadzean then also hacks against the post as he clears for the Sky Blues.

At the other end Coventry break and Biamou beats Simon Sluga with his shot but hits the inside of the post.

    Wow.

  17. Postpublished at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Preston

Big chance for Middlesbrough as they look to put a marker down against Preston early on.

Paddy McNair's free-kick finds Chuba Akpom but he heads just off target for the hosts.

  18. Postpublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Cardiff 0-0 Stoke

Stoke have started brightly against Cardiff as they look to take an early lead in the Welsh capital.

Wales international Rhys Norrington Davies lets fly from the edge of the area for the visitors but his effort is deflected wide.

  19. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 0-1 Watfordpublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2021

    Francisco Sierralta (9 mins)

He scored an own goal on Saturday but now Watford centre-back Francisco Sierralta gets on at the right end.

A corner goes short and Philip Zinckernagel works space to cross in for the Chilean to head home.

Rotherham had started with real intensity but now they need to react to this setback.

    Ivan Toney pen (8 mins)

There was only ever going to be one outcome.

Ivan Toney takes a two-step run-up and sends Derby keeper Kelle Roos the wrong way for his 27th Championship goal of the season.
