A clash of heads at Easter Road as Christian Doidge and Jake Carroll come together in the air leaving Motherwell defender Carroll in a heap on the turf. He gets treatment but has to be replaced by Nathan McGinley while Doidge seems okay.

Kilmarnock's Greg Kiltie is shown a yellow card for simulation, which has the Sportsound pundits shaking their heads.

Kiltie lifted the ball over Mark Reynolds in the box and there was a coming together.

Not a penalty, but not a booking either is the verdict from our radio crew.

A free-kick from Kyle Lafferty forces a smart save from Benjamin Siegrist down low to his right. He is then back up quickly to stop Mitchell Pinnock's follow-up effort.

That would have had the crowd on their feet... Martin Boyle goes on one of his mazy runs and slips the ball to Christian Doidge for a shot but the big Hibernian number nine is offside. Great play from Boyle.

Aberdeen are creaking under intense pressure now.

This is as enjoyable as 0-0’s get. Two fully committed sides with three points very much the goal.

St Mirren will feel they should be in front though. What a save from Ross Laidlaw who superbly tipped Conor McCarthy’s header away low down to his left. It looked in all the way.

Not too many direct opportunities to savour but it’s not for the want of trying.

Kyle Lafferty’s moment of magic cracking the crossbar and then conceding a deflected goal a minute later just sums up the luck the Ayrshire side are having.
