Northern Ireland are finding it difficult to get the ball off Italy at the moment. The Italians always seem to have a player in space that they can pass to and it must be quite exhausting for the visitors to keep trying to cut out options.

Italy try to catch Northern Ireland out down the right flank again but Domenico Berardi makes his run a little too early and the flag is up for offside.

Alessandro Florenzi is onto a loose ball 30 yards from goal and tries his luck with a quick snapshot but can only watch as it flies well over the bar.

With two up front, looking energetic and keeping a solid shape, it was a decent first 10 minutes for Northern Ireland.

That goal has flipped the match on its head, though.

Domenico Berardi looks like he is starting to run the show, mostly from the right side, and Stuart Dallas could be in for a long night keeping an eye on him - though there is no better man for that job.

Ian Baraclough's men have ridden their luck a few times since the goal and it's vital they get through another 10 minutes or so at least without conceding.

Domenico Berardi is a real thorn in Northern Ireland's side - particularly their right-hand side as he creates space for himself before swinging the ball into the box for Emerson, who heads just wide.

Italy are looking really confident now, that goal will have certainly eased concerns of protracted spell of trying to break down Northern Ireland. The hosts are largely playing keep ball at the moment.

Berardi had oceans of space down our left. It's a great finish but you have to wonder how he has so much space there. That's the Italians, when they are on form it's two passes and they are in the heart of your defence. We haven't been scoring goals of late and it will be difficult to get the ball off them now.

Oooh big let off for Northern Ireland as Ciro Immobile gets in-between two defenders to meet a ball over the top but hits his shot into the ground and that takes the sting out of it.

That was far too easy for the hosts, however.

Can we get a point? Yeah, why not? We have always performed well against the big sides. We were going well against the Netherlands with 10 minutes to go in the last qualifying campaign and we got a draw at home with them when no one gave us a chance. We do perform well against the big nations.
