Italy secured a 2-0 win in Bulgaria in Group C - they have six points from their two games as do Sweden, who beat Group B rivals Kosovo 3-0.
Romania 0-1 Germany
That's it. Two wins from two for the four-time winners. Serge Gnabry's first-half goal was enough, but they wasted plenty of chances and were almost made to pay in the closing minutes
They are level on six points with Armenia in Group J.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Oh dear! But magnificent from Manuel Neuer.
Leroy Sane plays a loose ball back to defence, Nicolae Stanciu pounces on the mistake but his close-range angled strike is saved by the spread-eagled Bayern Munich stopper.
Bulgaria 0-2 Italy
Relief for Roberto Mancini's side thanks to Sassuolo's Manuel Locatelli, who converts Lorenzo Insigne's ball.
That should be game over in Sofia.
Romania 0-1 Germany
No need for VAR here - not that there is VAR available - Serge Gnabry is clearly offside as he is set free.
Timo Werner then lets fly but Florin Nita is alert to the danger.
Could Romania make their opponents pay for their wasted opportunities?
Romania 0-1 Germany
Germany sub Timo Werner is played in by Ilkay Gundogan... just has the keeper to beat... and sees his shot saved by Florin NIta.
Bringing some of his Chelsea form to Bucharest.
Sorry Timo.
Kosovo 0-3 Sweden
That is pretty much game over at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri.
Sebastian Larsson - yes, that one - scores from the spot for the Swedes. The 35-year-old plays his club football for AIK these days.
Romania 0-1 Germany
George Puscas tries to get Romania going at the other end - he delivers a low ball into the area which is cleared for a corner... the subsequent corner-ball is easily claimed by Manuel Neuer.
Romania 0-1 Germany
George Puscas of Reading comes on for Romania.
We have Puscas (yes, I know it's Puskas), Hagi and Popescu on the pitch.
Beautifully next gen.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger does well to stand in the way of Florin Tanase's shot inside the area.
Straight up the other end, Leroy Sane gets the slightest of touches on a cross, but it isn't enough to steer his angled strike inside the far post.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Serge Gnabry gets a deserved applause and rueful smile from coach Joachim Low after going on a superb run which ends with a shot that is just about palmed away by Florin Nita.
Great entertainment from the ex-Arsenal man.
A few seconds later, Germany break again. Leroy Sane squares to Ilkay Gundogan, but his firm rising shot is saved by the busy Nita.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Sparta Prague keeper Florin Nita is sent to Land's End by Leroy Sane in the area. However, the former Manchester City player takes the ball a little too far which allows Nita to get back on his feet and narrow the shooting opportunity for the winger.
At the other end, Florin Tanase strikes high over the bar from 10 yards when perhaps he should have hit the target at the very least.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Leon Goretzka holds down the 'B' button for as long as he can before letting rip, but Florin Nita shows strong wrists in beating that venomous shot clear.
It was a super initial run from Leroy Sane.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Leroy Sane is almost sent clear by Ilkay Gundogan but Romania keeper Florin Nita comes out to head clear - decent header tbf.
Romania 0-1 Germany
Andrei Burca comes on for Camora, in order to keep Kai Havertz quiet no doubt.
We are back under way.
Romania 0-1 Germany

In case you were wondering (see 20:17 BST).
HT: Romania 0-1 Germany
So far so good for Joachim Low's men thanks to Serge Gnabry's 16th minute strike.
