    Leeds v Tottenham (12:30 BST)

You may remember that Leeds bought the pitch we're about to watch a game on from Tottenham earlier in the season. It has been a tad slippy since it was laid.

With the amount of rain we've had on it today, I think we may need to be on defensive clanger watch.

I still fancy Leicester and Chelsea to hold on to the last Champions League spots.

This won't be an easy game for Spurs today. Leeds will be at it.

In his short time as a manager, Ryan Mason has already taken in a League Cup final. Now he's headlong into must-win games for Champions League qualification.

To be fair to the 29-year-old, he's done pretty well so far. Today, he is aiming to become the first manager or coach to win his opening three Premier League matches in charge of Tottenham.

    Leeds v Tottenham (12:30 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

Leeds were pretty poor in their defeat at Brighton last week when they missed injured duo Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

Both of them are doubts for this game and it would definitely mean advantage to Tottenham if they miss out again.

I fancy Harry Kane and Son Heung-min to cause Leeds plenty of problems, and Spurs to leave with the points.

    Prediction: 0-2

  6. Sliding doors...published at 12:07 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

In an attempt to seamlessly bring it back today's first Premier League game, you'll remember that Derby beat Leeds in the Championship play-off semi-finals at the end of the 2018-19 season.

Well, since then both Leeds and Derby have won 28 Championship matches.

Leeds’ last Championship match was 289 days ago.

It wasn't that long ago that Sheffield Wednesday were a play-off side either. Something has gone badly, badly wrong with those two.

  8. Big day in the Championshippublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

It is going to be one heck of a day in the Championship today.

Going into the today's final round of fixtures none of the teams in the second tier will start the day with an 'R' next to their name, even if Wycombe's chances of avoiding going down are pretty far-fetched.

The game most people will have their eyes on is that between Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. It is a game that could end up being a straight shoot-out for survival, or could well end up irrelevant, with both teams going down.

So you know the score, we've also produced a piece with everything you need to know on a dramatic Championship finale.

And obviously we'll have a live text commentary on it all. I won't knock you if you want to follow that rather than this!

  11. Cry me a river...published at 11:59 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

Remember the Super League? That attempt by 12 European clubs to break away? You know, the one that failed spectacularly?

Well, this week nine of the clubs involved, including all six English sides, accepted a financial punishment from Uefa for their actions.

The other three are refusing to go down without a fight.

This morning, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have defended their European Super League plans in the face of what they call "threats" from Uefa.

"The founding clubs have suffered," a Real, Barca and Juve statement said.

You can read more about it here.

OK, so who saw Leicester 2-4 Newcastle coming?

Anyone with their hand up now is a liar.

What a result for Newcastle, eh? They're now just one point from survival - a remarkable turnaround from the flailing entity they were a few weeks back.

And what a shocking blow for Leicester. The Foxes are still in solid shape for a Champions League spot, but it is a huge reminder that there is still work to do.

And now the obligatory focus on the fact that Ryan Mason is only 29.

The age difference of 35 years and 327 days between Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa and Tottenham counterpart Ryan Mason is the second biggest in Premier League history, after Bobby Robson and Chris Coleman (37 years and 112 days).

  14. 'We are ready'published at 11:50 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Leeds v Tottenham (12:30 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's interim boss Ryan Mason, speaking to BT Sport: " "Winning matches breeds confidence. We are ready and hopefully we can put in a big performance.

"I've said all along the next game is the most important thing. The group has trained well this week and we felt right to keep the team as it is."

On the 36-year age gap between himself and Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa: "I've said all along it's not about me against anyone. It's about Tottenham against Leeds."

  18. 'We must match Leeds' intensity'published at 11:45 British Summer Time 8 May 2021

    Leeds v Tottenham (12:30 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham forward Harry Kane, speaking to BT Sport: "We'll have to win all four of our remaining games to have any chance [of top four spot] - starting today.

"The challenge is to finish the season strongly. The Southampton home game was a good result and against Sheffield United it was a good solid performance from everyone.

"Leeds will be a high-intensity game and it's raining so it'll be quick. They are pretty unique in how they set up and play. We have got to match their intensity and make sure we keep our structure."
