  • Atletico stay top of La Liga by two points

  • Barcelona in second place

  • Real can move top with on Sunday

  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 31 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Hold on. Sergio Busquets isn't OK here.

He comes back on but soon sits himself down on the turf. Barca can't take any chances here and he's replaced by Ilaix Moriba.

That's really unfortunate for Busquets, but he was clearly in no fit state to continue.

  2. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Good news for Barca, as Sergio Busquets is cleared to come back on.

  3. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Barca are reduced to 10-men for the time being as Busquets is taken away for further inspection. It looks like he just has a bit of a nose bleed.

In the meantime, Koke whips a cross into the Barca box from the right but fails to find a team-mate.

  4. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Sergio Busquets and Stefan Savic collide in the air as they challenge for a ball.

There's a little break in play as both players are checked out, but hopefully they'll be fine to continue...

  5. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Nice footwork from Antoine Griezmann opens up some space on the edge of the Atletico penalty area.

He passes to Lionel Messi but the Argentine is immediately swarmed by several red and white shirts. No way through for Ronald Koeman's side so far.

  6. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Only against Sevilla (38 goals in 43 games) has Lionel Messi scored more goals in all competitions than he has against Atletico Madrid (32 goals in 42 games).

He's been kept relatively quiet so far, but you certainly wouldn't bet against him having a big say in this...

  7. CLOSE!published at 20 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

    What a chance for Atletico!

But it's superbly defended by Clement Lenglet. The Barca defender beats Angel Correa to Mario Hermoso's low cross with a perfectly timed sliding challenge.

  8. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Sergino Dest is proving a nuisance for Atletico on the right flank.

He carries the ball forward once more before pulling the ball back to Lionel Messi, but Messi's searching cross-field ball is cut out.

  9. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Barca are moving the ball around nicely now.

Sergino Dest gets in down the right but is hacked down, allowing the hosts to whip in a free-kick from a useful position.

Lionel Messi takes it but it's played short and Atletico are able to clear quite comfortably.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

That's Thomas Lemar's afternoon over already.

It looks like he's suffered a muscle injury and is replaced by Saul Niguez.

  11. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

No attempts at goal from Barcelona so far.

The hosts work it forward nicely but an attempted throughball is cut out by Mario Hermoso's sliding intervention.

Back in the Barca half, Thomas Lemar is down and in some pain...

  12. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

... And it's straight at the Barcelona goalkeeper. Poor attempt from Suarez.

  13. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Luis Suarez wins a free-kick for Atletico a couple of yards outside the box, slightly to the left of Ter Stegen's goal.

    Suarez to take...

  14. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Lionel Messi is chopped down by Koke in the middle of the pitch as Barca's star man threatens to start an attack.

Atletico aren't allowing Messi any time on the ball so far, even if it does mean conceding a few free-kicks in the process.

  15. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

Atletico Madrid are the first to fire a warning shot, but Marc-Andre ter Stegen is able to get across to Thomas Lemar's attempt.

  16. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Barcelona 0-0 Atletico

They're playing in perfect conditions at the Nou Camp. Not jealous at all.

It's been a bit of a scrappy opening, perhaps unsurprisingly as both sides wrestle for control of this huge game.
