    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

    How's he missed?!?

Luka Modric beats the Sevilla defence with an excellent chipped pass over the top to Toni Kroos, who tees up Vinicius Junior for what looks like a tap-in but somehow he sends it wide.

    That was a glorious chance.

Casemiro is enjoying his highest goalscoring La Liga campaign this season and tries to add to that from outside the box, but his latest attempt is very much off-target.

  4. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

The pressure continues to build on the Sevilla goal.

It's very much a 5-4-1, if not a 6-4-0 formation for the visitors at the moment as they look to see out their one-goal advantage.

Just the 30 minutes to survive, but it's a case of so far, so good...

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Sevilla make the first change of the match as Alejandro Gomez is replaced by Youssef En-Nesyri.

Real are asking for a penalty here...

A corner is whipped in and the ball appears to strike a jumping Sevilla player on the arm.

The referee consults VAR but it's a no from them. It would have been very harsh.

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Sevilla have at least eight red shirts lined across the edge of their box as they look to keep Real at bay.

Following Barcelona's goalless draw with Atletico Madrid yesterday, defender Gerard Pique had this to say on the title race:

"We are still alive in the chase for the title. We competed well and had more chances than them.

"It wasn't to be but we know the situation we are in. I think this is a title race that is still very much wide open."

It's looking even more so at present...

So, plenty of work for Real Madrid to do if they are to bring the title under their control.

Sevilla will have to return ready to face serious pressure in the second half, against a Real side that has won their last 11 home league meetings with Julen Lopetegui's side - scoring an average of 3.4 goals per game.

Real are actually on their longest run of home victories against Sevilla in the history of the competition, with their last defeat coming in December 2008 (3-4).

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Not a second of injury time is deemed necessary and the referee swiftly blows for half-time.

    Advantage Sevilla.

  15. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

With Real pressing high in search of an equaliser, Sevilla are able to break.

They do so with caution, however, and Suso decides to play the ball back allowing Real to recover.

  16. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Real eventually win the ball back and Toni Kroos floats effortlessly between Sevilla players before teeing up Casemiro.

The midfielder drives a low first-time shot at goal but he drags it comfortably wide of the target.

  17. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Stuck up in the stands, Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui is on his phone giving orders to his staff in the dugout.

His side are in a great position but there's still a long way to go.

They're keeping the ball nicely though as the clock ticks down to half-time.

  18. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

We still have 10 minutes to go until the interval but as it stands there will be four points separating La Liga's top four with three games remaining.

    Great stuff.

  19. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Toni Kroos delivers a dangerous corner and it's hit with such pace that it evades everyone.

The ball is sent back in from the opposite side, but Yassine Bounou pounces on the loose ball.

  20. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Real Madrid 0-1 Sevilla

Everybody is back for Sevilla. It feels like the 91st minute rather than the 31st.

It's a risky game to defend so deep when Karim Benzema is lurking around your penalty area, and the Frenchman forces a good save from Yassine Bounou after a quick turn and shot.
