That was a glorious chance.

Following Barcelona's goalless draw with Atletico Madrid yesterday, defender Gerard Pique had this to say on the title race:

"We are still alive in the chase for the title. We competed well and had more chances than them.

"It wasn't to be but we know the situation we are in. I think this is a title race that is still very much wide open."

So, plenty of work for Real Madrid to do if they are to bring the title under their control.

Sevilla will have to return ready to face serious pressure in the second half, against a Real side that has won their last 11 home league meetings with Julen Lopetegui's side - scoring an average of 3.4 goals per game.

Real are actually on their longest run of home victories against Sevilla in the history of the competition, with their last defeat coming in December 2008 (3-4).

Not a second of injury time is deemed necessary and the referee swiftly blows for half-time.

They do so with caution, however, and Suso decides to play the ball back allowing Real to recover.

Real eventually win the ball back and Toni Kroos floats effortlessly between Sevilla players before teeing up Casemiro.

The midfielder drives a low first-time shot at goal but he drags it comfortably wide of the target.

Stuck up in the stands, Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui is on his phone giving orders to his staff in the dugout.

His side are in a great position but there's still a long way to go.

They're keeping the ball nicely though as the clock ticks down to half-time.

We still have 10 minutes to go until the interval but as it stands there will be four points separating La Liga's top four with three games remaining.
