St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportscene: "There's real disappointment.

"I feel a lot better about myself and the performance of the team this time around than I did in the League Cup semi-final against Livingston. I couldn't point a finger at a player who didn't give their all.

"We didn't take our chances and at 0-0 we had the best chance. The first goal was always going to be hugely important and that was the case.

"When the second goal goes in there's still more than enough time to keep pushing. We got a goal back with five or six minutes left and we tried to throw everything at it. I'm immensely proud.

"I'd rather get to this point - two semis in one season - and go out than sit at home and not be here. We've taken the club to a whole new level.

"It's been a decent season but we want to rebuild in the summer and go that little bit step further next time."

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson tells BBC Sportscene: "It's been a really tough week for us, but the effort and character has been tremendous.

"Glenn Middleton is getting better and better and he's got a lot of quality. To have that kind of impact is tremendous. You want impact from your substitutions."

Asked about the being one game away from a cup double, he replies: "I probably won't say too much about that now. We're in a position to do it, but I won't think about it too much.

"I'm just glad we're in the final. The season will carry on, so I'm delighted."

The final David Wotherspoon is looking forward to is against his old team Hibernian on 22 May.

The classy Saints midfielder was overlooked for the 2012 and 2013 finals when at Easter Road but picked up a winners medal from 2014 in his first season in Perth.

St Johnstone midfielder David Wotherspoon tells BBC Sportscene: "We dominated and we had plenty of chances and eventually got the goals in the second half.

"It's set up to be a great final and we just can't wait for it now."

Some head tennis in the St Johnstone box and the Perth defence finally manage to hoof it clear.

St Johnstone defender Liam Gordon is off the park for some patching up on a bloody nose.

The St Johnstone defence repels a long throw-in and when it drops to Jamie McGrath the St Mirren midfielder thumps a shot over the crossbar.

We're going into three minutes of stoppage time at Hampden.

St Mirren sub Eamonn Brophy has a go with a shot on the turn and it fizzes across the face of goal and wide.
