  1. Not long to wait for big day at Hampdenpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

FT: St Mirren 1-2 St Johnstone

That's all for today folks. Congratulations to St Johnstone for reaching a second cup final of the season.

Could they add the Scottish Cup to the League Cup they already have in the McDiarmid Park trophy cabinet?

They thumped Hibs 3-0 in the League Cup semis and have won the last two league meetings with the team from Leith, so they'll be feeling pretty chipper about their chances on 22 May.

  3. 'We've taken St Mirren to a whole new level'published at 16:38 British Summer Time 9 May 2021

FT: St Mirren 1-2 St Johnstone

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportscene: "There's real disappointment.

"I feel a lot better about myself and the performance of the team this time around than I did in the League Cup semi-final against Livingston. I couldn't point a finger at a player who didn't give their all.

"We didn't take our chances and at 0-0 we had the best chance. The first goal was always going to be hugely important and that was the case.

"When the second goal goes in there's still more than enough time to keep pushing. We got a goal back with five or six minutes left and we tried to throw everything at it. I'm immensely proud.

"I'd rather get to this point - two semis in one season - and go out than sit at home and not be here. We've taken the club to a whole new level.

"It's been a decent season but we want to rebuild in the summer and go that little bit step further next time."

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson tells BBC Sportscene: "It's been a really tough week for us, but the effort and character has been tremendous.

"Glenn Middleton is getting better and better and he's got a lot of quality. To have that kind of impact is tremendous. You want impact from your substitutions."

Asked about the being one game away from a cup double, he replies: "I probably won't say too much about that now. We're in a position to do it, but I won't think about it too much.

"I'm just glad we're in the final. The season will carry on, so I'm delighted."
