England are on their way home from Skopje with another three points and 10 more goals to their name. Surely it will not be long before their place at the 2023 World Cup is confirmed.

It's onto Belfast next for Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses and a qualifier against Northern Ireland in front on the live BBC Two cameras next Tuesday.

England's three remaining World Cup qualifying games:

12 April: Away v Northern Ireland

3 September: Away v Austria

6 September: Home v Luxembourg

England away to Austria on 3 September is looking a very tasty fixture right now.

The final whistle has gone in the other game in Group D. Northern Ireland have lost 3-1 away to Austria. It means the Lionesses finish the day with a five-point cushion at the top with three more qualifying matches to play.

England boss Sarina Wiegman, speaking to ITV: "We played against an opponent that compared to us isn't great. But we have to make the game and speed up the game and that's what we tried to do.

"We scored 10 which is nice. We created lots of chances and sometimes we should have been a little more patient. But if you score 10 goals that's just a good result."

On the progress the Lionesses have made since her first game in charge - an 8-0 win over North Macedonia last September: "I think a lot. The way we want to play really comes across.

"The connection today, you could see compared to the first game in September."

England

Ellen White, who took her tally to 50 international goals - three behind all time England leading scorer Wayne Rooney - says it is a dream to play for the Lionesses.

Speaking to ITV, she adds: "The result is really pleasing. Our standards are really high and we wanted the three points.

"It's a massive privilege [to surpass Sir Bobby Charlton and Harry Kane in the list of England's all time leading scorers].

"It's a dream for me to play for England. I'm delighted to get on the score sheet but for me its about winning and getting to the World Cup."

Arsenal legend Ian Wright is on duty for ITV and says there can be no complaints when England score 10 goals.

"I thought they did very well in the second half," he adds.

England are five points clear of second-placed Austria - who lead Northern Ireland 3-0 - in the table as it stands.

The Lionesses are next in action on Tuesday against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in Belfast (19:55 BST) - a match you can watch live on BBC Two.

Another double digit win for the Lionesses who have devoured North Macedonia in Skopje.
