Thousands marched from Ibrox Stadium to celebrate Scottish title triumph after club and police urged crowds to disperse.

Asked when he knew his side would clinch the title, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports: "We played Celtic just after the new year and it was a real key game. We didn't play well, but we won the game. As staff, we said to ourselves, this is a real good place to be in. If we can beat the main challengers by not being at our best, that's key.

"We found more steel. We found more desire. Livingston away was the final corner, we knew we were on the home straight after that.

"This has to be a launchpad. The recruitment is key now. You can see the last few games that we're short in certain areas. I've had some really interesting meetings with the board and they're with me, they'll back me and we'll go again."

Departing Celtic captain Scott Brown tells BBC Scotland after his final game for the club: "I'm not an emotional guy, I take everything in my stride. On post-match celebrations tonight, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports: "I've come in today and there's a box of paracetamol in my locker. I think someone is trying to tell me the next few days are going to be messy.

"When I grew up as a young kid I thought it was one club for life," he adds.

"I've come through at Liverpool and had a career there which I'm immensely proud of. I came up here with my eyes wide open to learn about the club.

"I had a good idea from the outside but this has grabbed me. It's a club like very few in the world. This has got a special place in my heart.

"I'm happy here. I had to make a lot of sacrifices family wise, but I want more."

After missing out on a fifth-place finish with a goalless draw in Perth, Livingston manager David Martindale reflects on an "incredible season".

"We created the only real chance of the game, there wasn’t much in it," he says.

"It’s been a fantastic season, it’s been incredible. The boys have to take credit for that. Two top-six finishes for a club of our size is monumental. Sometimes people don’t realise how hard that is to do for a club of our size.

"Now all you can think about is recruitment and next season, that’s the challenge for us. Again I’ll set the stall out of can we finish 10th? But we all have aspirations and ambitions inside the Tony Macaroni Arena, can we do it again? It’s very difficult, it’s very draining. I’m keeping the majority of boys who have played games this season but there’s going to be a high turnover, probably the biggest in my seven years at the club."

Chelsea's Erin Cuthbert has a Champions League final tomorrow and it looks like the Scotland star enjoyed the distraction of following the action from Ibrox.

Asked on what he had to change by former Ibrox star Ally McCoist, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports: You always fall away for a reason. It's either a dip in form or a message to yourself and your staff that you're maybe a few players short.

"It's about going back into the market and making sure your recruitment is right. There's no getting away from the fact that we were too heavily reliant on Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe at times. Bringing Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten in and keeping Ryan Kent was big from the board.

"We got the last window right, then it was about using the hurt to drive us on more. The way last season was curtailed, it gave us a chance to reset. From the first day of pre-season, they guys have given me everything and more."

A champagne-soaked Steven Gerrard tells Sky Sports that Alfredo Morelos is in for another fine after emptying a bottle over him during the title celebrations.

"It's been a while since I've had the smell of champagne," Gerrard adds. "It's been so long I'm actually enjoying it.

"I'm so proud of the boys and all the staff around it, but the main thing is the supporters. I was asked to come here at a difficult time, it had been even more difficult before that.

"I have to pay my respects to the people who got it to the point where I took over. After that it was about having a vision, getting the right people in the right places, the right support from the board and fighting for it.

"We've fought every day for the last three years to get to this point."

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson says ensuring European football for the club next season is a "magnificent achievement".

"Absolutely delighted, if you look back when we were 10 or 11 games into the season and told me we were going to finish fifth and qualify for Europe I would have taken it," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"Putting into perspective the week we’ve had – training, games, the semi-final, carrying very few players, I think it was an unbelievable achievement today.

"We made one mistake to allow Livingston a chance and we had one chance ourselves. It wasn’t a great game, but I asked the players to get a result and they did that. It’s a magnificent achievement for the club. All credit to the players and everybody involved.

"It’s probably been overshadowed by the Scottish Cup and what’s gone on here behind the scenes in the last couple of weeks. For me, it’s huge. I remember when we qualified with Tommy (Wright), it was a great atmosphere here with 10,000 people. Hopefully we can get back to something like that.

"It’s going to be a really tough week, I’m going to keep the players as safe as I can and make sure everyone is okay. My mind has already turned to the Covid testing. We’ve done everything we can. It’s really important that the boys are safe and they don’t have any issues. It’ll be a different than usual week in the build-up to a cup final."

Celtic interim manager John Kennedy tells BBC Sportsound: "There'll be changes. Every season there's change, but this season it's obviously going to be more than normal just because of the nature of the squad.

"I've not had discussions about my future. I'm very relaxed about what the future holds.

"I've always said I'll be my own man at some point. This has been a great experience for me. I've never been in a rush to jump in, but if the opportunity is right I'll consider it."
