Brendan Rodgers says Leicester City "would love to go all the way" in the Europa Conference League.

"We have a good advantage from the first leg but we know we’re going to have to endure in the second leg," said Rodgers.

"If we get through this tie it will give us that extra motivation to try to get to the final. We would love to go all the way."

Plans for a statue to honour the late Leicester City chairman have been approved by the city council.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others died in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium in October 2018.

His son Aiyawatt has previously said he wanted the statue as "a permanent and fitting tribute".

It will be encircled by planters and benches at the north of the stadium, near Raw Dykes Road.

An inscription around the base of the statue will read "always in our hearts".

Rennes v Leicester (17:45 GMT, 0-2 first leg)

Rennes have won six of their last eight games in Ligue 1, including Sunday's impressive 4-2 victory over Lyon in which they scored two early goals.

"It's something we have to be ready for," said Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers. "I've seen the game at the weekend and they scored very good goals.

"It's that combination of movements and good technical players. We're fully aware of the strengths they have. They will be aware of ours.

"I know we can play better. We know we are going to have to endure tough moments in this game."

Bobby Seagull: Pinch myself moment for West Ham fans with our biggest game since we've moved to London Stadium. Sevilla are Real Madrid of Europa League. 6 times champions (2006, 07, 14, 15, 16 & 20) and currently 2nd in La Liga. We're down 1-0 but anything possible.

  5. Hammers in action laterpublished at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2022

West Ham v Sevilla (20:00 GMT, 0-1 first leg)

West Ham have a huge game later on - against Europa League specialists Sevilla - in the last 16 second leg of that tournament.

Hammers boss David Moyes says these are the kind of games the fans were dreaming of when they moved to London Stadium.

"I think they hoped for European nights and would be given opportunities to come to big games against big sides," he said.

"In some ways we've done that but I feel like I've just scratched the surface, I feel as if this can only be the beginning."

We will build up to that game after the Leicester match.

Leicester defender Wesley Fofana fractured his fibula in August and then tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in March.

His last game was the final day of last season.

The 21-year-old recently extended his contract with the club until 2027.

"He's had a serious injury and we're trying to manage his expectations," said Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers in the build-up to this game.

"I've been so impressed with his attitude. I've seen his intensity, his drive and determination. We have to try and manage that when he is back."

Rennes, who lost 2-0 in the first leg at the King Power Stadium, are fourth in Ligue 1 with five wins in their past seven matches.

There is just one change from the side that began the 4-2 away victory at Lyon on Sunday, but a big one as 19-year-old third-choice goalkeeper Dogan Alemdar starts after Alfred Gomis broke his hand at the weekend.

Rennes: Alemdar, Truffert, Aguerd, Omari, Traore, Santamaria, Martin, Majer, Terrier, Laborde, Bourigeaud.

Subs: Bonet, Assignon, Meling, Diouf, Tait, Belocian, Guirassy, Damergy, Tchaouna, Ugochukwu, Tel.

Last week Marc Albrighton's superb goal set Leicester on their way to victory over Rennes in the first leg of their last-16 Europa Conference League tie.

The 32-year-old winger powered an effort into the top right corner after some excellent work by Harvey Barnes.

The Foxes' night got even better when Kelechi Iheanacho curled in a late second against the run of play.

Can they get the job done in France tonight?
