So, West Ham and Leicester miss out on a final.

It's back to domestic matters for the pair of them, with West Ham chasing another European adventure next year.

To rub salt in the wound, West Ham have suffered four consecutive defeats in all competitions for the first time under David Moyes, last doing so in April 2017 under manager Slaven Bilic (run of five).

So they'll be looking to put that right at Norwich, with the Foxes at Everton on the same day.

  3. 'We lost in the first 30 seconds in London'published at 22:35 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 West Ham (agg: 3-1)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss David Moyes, speaking to BT Sport: "Really disappointed. Things didn't go for us on the night. Small things didn't happen but I am really proud of the players. How they played with 10 men was fantastic. They stayed in it. Other teams would have folded and lost two or three. The boys here are great. Tough boys.

"I thought we tried. We created chances. I thought we had better chances than Frankfurt. But we congratulate them. They go through, we don't and we give them our best wishes.

"I don't feel any of that [pride] at the moment. I just feel disappointment as I felt this was a chance. We have played better teams probably than Frankfurt. Let's be honest, we probably lost the game in the first 30 seconds at the London Stadium when we conceded. We were chasing the game since.

"We have enjoyed being in the competition. Not sure we have enjoyed the officiating. We have a pretty good team so I think we can try again. We will be a bit wiser and can hopefully do it more often."

Any complaints on the Aaron Cresswell red card? "Lots of complaints, yeah."

On his red card: "I kicked a ball back at a ball boy so I apologise for that. He threw it very softly at me."

  4. 'This is our Champions League'published at 22:31 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Roma 1-0 Leicester (agg 2-1)

    Roma

Roma manager Jose Mourinho to BT Sport: "When you work in Rome, live in Rome and breathe Rome, you breathe this club because it is the real club of the city. I felt from day one it is huge. But no victories and not many finals. The history is not related to the social dimension of the club.

"We managed to build an OK team that grew step by step so we could beat a Premier League.

"I am very emotional. Of course I have had bigger moments than this but I am not feeling for myself, I am feeling for the people and my players. This for us, is our Champions League."

  5. 'It's been our problem all season'published at 22:28 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Roma 1-0 Leicester (agg 2-1)

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers to BT Sport: "Of course when you lose a second leg of a semi-final it's disappointing. I thought the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic from both sets of supporters. It was a great arena to come and play in.

"In the second half we were much better. We imposed ourselves and made changes. In the first half it wasn't aggressive enough. The players kept going until the very end but we couldn't find that big chance. There wasn't many in the game for both teams.

"The corner... It's been our problem all season. We have tried every structure in the box - man-marking and zonal - but clearly we lack physicality in the team to deal with certain situations consistently and that has cost us tonight.

"We really dominated the first leg and had opportunities so we always had it in the back of the mind that we might need to change it and get an extra body through the middle. The players responded really well second half.

"It's been a great journey for us in Europe in the last couple of years. We have a lot of young players that are finding their way and this was a great experience for them. That will provide motivation for them next season. We just missed out so we're disappointed but we need to finish the season strongly now and look to progress in the summer for next season."

  6. 'Gutted but proud'published at 22:24 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 West Ham (agg: 3-1)

    West Ham United

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, speaking to BT Sport: "Gutted. We are gutted in there. We have come so far as a group. We are not the biggest of squads, to keep playing week in, week out over 50 games, after last year. I am proud as well. To go down to 10 men and put in that shift. Many teams will go away and lose three or four. To still try to get forward with a man less emphasises everything that West Ham is about. We will fight to the end. So gutted but proud of everyone.

"A red card is always going to make it a mountain to climb. We had genuine belief that over two legs they weren't going to beat us. Of course they are a good side but no way are they better than what Sevilla or Lyon were. Maybe we played a team who play similar to us and it caught us out in the end. The first goal killed the atmosphere in the first game and it is a mountain to climb from there. We have come so far. Nobody expected West Ham to be here. The boys went out on a high even though we lost.

"It didn't seem to go for us at all. One cleared off the line, Tomas' header at the end. We had a few shots. Other than the goal, they didn't really have another chance. An annoying one to concede that after the sending off as we could still have been in it.

"The sending off was probably a sending off but some of the other decisions were poor tonight. The ref seemed to make every decision go for them. When you have someone against you, you can't do much.

"Lads in there, myself, we have lost big games but we come off with our chest high. We have given it a go. Nobody expected us to get past Sevilla or Lyon. We had a genuine belief in the camp, the fans, even players from other teams, to go out and do it. We will be back. I am young, I want more, the lads want more and the club deserves more. I am sure we will be back."

  7. 'We found them hard to break down'published at 22:19 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Roma 1-0 Leicester (agg 2-1)

    Leicester City

Leicester defender Jonny Evans to BT Sport: "Going behind to a Jose Mourinho team... We knew they would be hard to break down anyway.

"Losing that goal in the first half on a set-piece was a problem for us. We didn't really find a way back in. We had a lot of possession but found it hard to break them down.

"They probably gave us more options on the ball in the second half and we played the majority of the second half in their half. They are a good team, big and strong and we found them hard to break down."

  8. 'The fans won us this game'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 5 May 2022

FT: Roma 1-0 Leicester (agg 2-1)

    Roma

England striker and Roma match-winner Tammy Abraham to BT Sport: "Before the game started, the fans won us this game. We could hear them before getting into the stadium and throughout the warm-up. We weren't even on the pitch and we heard them. The win was for them and my team. Hopefully we can go all the way.

"My job is to be active around the box. That's the kind of striker I am. Whenever I sniff an opportunity I try to take my chance. I'm not the best at heading but today was a pretty good one.

"It was a bit of a surprise [Ricardo Pereira was marking him] but it doesn't matter who is marking me, if I sniff a chance I have to go for it.

"I tried and my team tried. You had to give your all. We left everything out there. In the last couple of minutes I couldn't breathe. He told me to keep going and we did that."
