The Special One: We can't imagine the atmosphere in all of the stadiums at the moment! It must be a long lost feeling for so many footy fans.

Hugh WAFC: Wigan are back. We take the lead, concede a minute later.

Glen Williams: Barnsley look the more dangerous at the minute, I must say. Cardiff a little too tentative and ponderous on the edge of their own box and cannot sustain possession in attack.

Mike Fabert: Mad passage of play! We concede (a very poor goal as well) and then we go straight down the other end and win a penalty and Geads does the rest! That might’ve been the shortest meltdown in #SAFC history!

Dave H: 1-0 up Minutes later concede. Tics are back!

Philip West: I’m absolutely loving this. Proper high-intensity, full-throttle game so far.

    Stoke City 2-1 Reading

    Ged Scott
BBC Sport at Bet 365 Stadium

Football's mad! You wait 17 months to see a goal . . . and then you get three in three minutes!!!

But, from the beauty of Nick Powell's clinically taken far-post opener for Stoke on 25 minutes, the other two weren't exactly collectors' items.

Stoke had countless opportunities to clear their lines before John Swift levelled from a tight angle a minute later.

Then Reading keeper Rafael Cabral simply dived (1970 FA Cup final Gary Sprake-style for any older readers) over the top of a low speculative shot from Jacob Brown.

“I said about there being a bit of added spice with some former players playing for Wigan today.

“The fans can turn on you quickly if results aren’t going well but when you get a goal and those fans are behind you that momentum is very difficult to stop.”

Sunderland have equalised through an Aidan McGeady penalty two minutes after falling behind to Gwion Edwards' goal.
