We are back on Saturday for Premier League action.
Until then.
'The governor here has created a winning mentality'
FT: Man Utd 0-1 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham assistant coach Stuart Pearce tells Sky Sports: "We were really disappointed we did not win the game on Sunday, that is what David Moyes has created at this club, a winning mentality. We dug deep when we had to and could have won by more. We are delighted to get through. It is not an easy place to come but to a man they were magnificent.
"We played particularly well, dealt with the ball well and cut United open on one or two occasions. The governor here has created a winning mentality and when the chips are down they go the extra mile for each other.
"He enjoys winning football matches, he take it in his stride, a game in a cup competition and we are delighted to be in the next round. From Dave's point of view, he is delighted to win but it is another game and we now focus on Saturday.
"Winning football matches is a good habit to have, we have good togetherness and the manager has created that. The players enjoy playing for him."
'Too little too late'
FT: Man Utd 0-1 West Ham
Manchester United
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells Sky Sports: "Lacking a goal. A slow start again and that needs addressing. They got a goal and after that we played well for long periods, gave it a go and stats don't mean anything. When you have 27 shots the boys have given it a go.
"We built pressure, Mason Greenwood came on and had a good one but sometimes the pressure does not come to anything. He made a positive impact, he was fresh and sharp but it was too little too late. The last six or seven minutes we were going gung-ho and they could have scored a couple.
"I would rather not say too much but it was a penalty again on Jesse Lingard.
"You want to go through but it is a long season, we gave it a good go, can't fault them for attitude and have big games coming up.
"It is a long journey all season, we have loads of games and keep on doing what we are doing, trying to get results. We are out of this cup which is not great but we will focus for Saturday."

There were too many parts in the game where Manchester United did not do enough, the final third was poor.
We need to see more from Anthony Martial, we have said it many times before but he is not helping his cause. I want to see him sweating and putting the ball in the back of the net. He has not done enough since being at United, you see flashes and think it is the start then he doesn't do anything. His body language is horrible to watch, he doesn't want to run around and work hard to be Manchester United's number nine.
The subs made a difference, Mason Greenwood was brilliant and Bruno Fernandes tried to make things happen but it is all too late for Manchester United again.
With the amount of possession Manchester United had, they have a lot of the ball and did not move it quick enough. There was no movement and I found it frustrating.
West Ham missed a couple of chances and the players all walked over to the corner towards their fans and sold out the away end. Issa Diop and Craig Dawson were rocks at the back.
'I felt sick as a pig' on Sunday
FT: Man Utd 0-1 West Ham
West Ham United
West Ham skipper Mark Noble tells Sky Sports: "The last couple of days have been tough but you put your boots back on and come out to play. You could call it two glorified B teams but I thought the players were fantastic.
"Things happen in football and sport. Sunday night at home I felt sick as a pig but you wake up in the morning and go to training to get ready for Wednesday. I have missed penalties in the past but because of the occasion it was maybe so hyped. We came to Old Trafford, one of the greatest places in the world, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
"It gives a chances to players who don't play regularly and when you go get a chance you have to take it. All in all, a great night for West Ham and a fantastic night for myself. Victories at Manchester United don't come a lot."
