Both sides are so hard to break down. This is what happened in the first half. Both teams are really compact and difficult to play through. If you look at the line of Liverpool, Van Dijk is marshalling it; they are constantly staying high. Chelsea can't find any space and neither can Liverpool when they attack.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Stupid by Harvey Elliott.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kai Havertz have a coming together. The old head nuzzling stuff. Just as it's dying down, Elliott comes over and shoves Havertz in the chest.
Alexander-Arnold and Havertz are booked. Elliott should have been but wasn't.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Timo Werner just isn't tall enough to get his head onto Kai Havertz's cross.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Trent Alexander-Arnold crosses from deep but it's over everyone and out for a goal-kick.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Lovely cross by Marcos Alonso, headed away. Reece James fouls Diogo Jota to stop a counter-attack.

Andrew Priestley: Is this ‘The Sitter Final’ or ‘The Disallowed Goals Final’? 3 of each, and counting.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Romelu Lukaku is fouled in the centre cirlce by Ibrahima Konate, who is lucky to avoid a booking really. He practially wrestled him.

Can't think that Liverpool will be too bothered about Lukaku and Werner being on given their recent ineffectuality in open play. If and when it comes to penalties, though, who knows?

Thiago Silva and Virgil van Dijk, what I'd do to see them two in the same team.
Watching them two every week, what dreams are made of.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is booked for a foul.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
A VAR check confirms he was offside. Just.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
ANOTHER disallowed goal! Three now I think.
Romelu Lukaku runs in behind onto Trevoh Chalobah's through ball, cuts back inside and hammers the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher.
But he was offside.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool bring on cult hero Divock Origi for Luis Diaz. Could he be a hero again?
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Oh no, what a waste.
Timo Werner plays a good one-two with Mateo Kovacic. He should shoot but he keeps taking an extra touch across the box and then feeds N'Golo Kante, who skies a cross.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
First chance of extra time. Romelu Lukaku runs in behind, holds it up and lays it off for Timo Werner, who tries to drop the ball into the top corner with no backlift but it's high and wide.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Luis Diaz tries to keep the ball in play, succeeds and then falls on the ball and it goes out for a goal-kick.

Antony Short: Belting 0-0, can't believe its stayed that way, great game though.
Rayan Mount: I might be exaggerating but I have never seen an entertaining 0-0 in football like this Carabao Cup final.
RyanHoward: What are people complaining about VAR for? Complain about Van Dijk interfering with play and blocking players while offside.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Extra time begins.
Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool bring on Ibrahima Konate for Joel Matip at the back.
