Was this the moment that sealed Chris Hughton's fate?

His Forest side remain rock bottom of the Championship after a 2-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough, with Onel Hernandez tapping the second into an empty net after a mistake from Reds goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.

Fulham end the day on top of the pile thanks to their thumping 4-1 win at Birmingham and Coventry are up to fourth after their 1-0 win over Cardiff.

We'll be back with more EFL action on Saturday from 12:15 BST.

Thanks for your company and enjoy the rest of your evening. Cheers.

  2. More grim reading for Forest fanspublished at 21:56 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

And at the other end of the table...

Nottingham Forest remain at the bottom of the table still with just one point from seven games.

Swansea's draw against Millwall also sees them continue to stutter in the early stages of the campaign.

  3. Fulham return to the summitpublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

A big win and a return to the top for Fulham....

Stoke are denied the chance to go level on points alongside them after that 1-1 draw against Barnsley.

Coventry's impressive start to the season sees them climb to fourth.

    FT: Stoke 1-1 Barnsley

There will almost certainly be repercussions over that skirmish between the two benches at the end of this game.

    Very ugly scenes.

    Stoke 1-1 Barnsley

A very entertaining game ends level in the Potteries.

Sam Surridge opened the scoring for the hosts before Cauley Woodrow's brilliant free-kick levelled the scores.

Mario Vrancic then saw a penalty saved by Brad Collins in the last minute of the first half and Collins was then in sensational form in the second half to keep the home side at bay.

There was a late red card for Stoke full-back Tommy Smith and a few dismissals for coaches on both sides as tempers flared at the end.

    Birmingham City 1-4 Fulham

Fulham back on top and back to winning ways with goals galore on the road.

But the scoreline didn't really tell the full story as Birmingham had chances.

Fulham were just the more clinical in the final third.

    Swansea City 0-0 Millwall

No way through for either of these sides who both still have just one win each this season.

Swansea still without a win at home.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Bristol City 1-1 Luton Town

Now 14 home games without a win for Bristol City as Danny Hylton snatches a draw for Luton with that late equaliser to Nathan Baker's header.

    Nott'm Forest 0-2 Middlesbrough

Another bad day for the bottom side who slip to their sixth defeat in seven matches.

Will Chris Hughton still be in charge for Saturday's trip to Huddersfield?

It's all gone off on the sidelines!

It looked like Dean Holden took a punch from a Barnsley coach in amongst it all. Not great.

    Coventry 1-0 Cardiff

Five wins from seven for the Sky Blues!

Viktor Gyokeres' first half goal is enough for all three points.

They'll be without Fankaty Dabo at the weekend though after he was sent off in time added on at the end.

  12. goal

GOAL: Bristol City 1-1 Luton Townpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Danny Hylton (90+1 mins)

Gutting for Bristol City but Luton find a leveller inside stoppage time.

Danny Hylton taps in at the far post after Dan Bentley gets in a tangle trying to win the ball off Mendes Gomes who is able to stab it across the face in time before the keeper could get hands on it.

  13. RED CARD - Fankaty Dabo (Coventry)published at 21:36 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Coventry 1-0 Cardiff

The hosts will end the game a man light.

Wing-back Fankaty Dabo is off for a very poor challenge on Marlon Pack.

GOAL: Birmingham City 1-4 Fulhampublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Troy Deeney pen (87 mins)

    Converts from the spot.

    Nott'm Forest 0-2 Middlesbrough

This will be a big three points for Middlesbrough who had won just one of their six matches prior to tonight.

Forest are going to remain rooted to the foot of the table.

  16. goal

GOAL: Birmingham City 0-4 Fulhampublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Aleksandar Mitrovic (83 mins)

    Icing on the cake...

Fulham find a fourth goal and Aleksandar Mitrovic his second of the night to take his league tally to six for the campaign already.

Fulham rob possession from Birmingham on halfway and they are all at sea at the back as Ivan Cavaleiro has plenty of time to lay it on for Mitrovic to strike home from just inside the penalty area.

  17. RED CARD - Tommy Smith (Stoke)published at 21:30 British Summer Time 15 September 2021

    Stoke 1-1 Barnsley

    Not a great one this.

Tommy Smith takes a heavy touch and then throws himself in to try and retrieve it but it's high and it's heavy on Tykes sub Claudio Gomes and the referee shows a straight red.

    Can the Tykes hold out?
