To pick up on Nathan's point, that's exactly how I used to feel about Carl Fletcher and Carl Robinson.

And they were both called Carl.

I need a bit more physicality in the Wales midfield for me, I can't really separate Matt Smith and Dylan Levitt. They're both very similar.

Lots of Finnish players warming up.

So excited I get to write about another nine substitutions in the next 30 minutes.

  7. CLOSE!published at 60 mins

Another Wales freekick. This one is floated in by Harry Wilson and Finland only clear to Matt Smith, whose powerful effort flashed across goal and just wide.

Wales' best chance from open play.

A much better effort from Harry Wilson than his penalty, he beats the wall, but Carljohan Eriksson pushes the ball clear.

    Decent save.

Glen Kamara cynically pulls back Tyler Roberts as Wales break and Wales have a freekick "right in Harry Wilson territory."

    Cheers.

  12. The Knill effect?published at 51 mins

Wales' right and left centre-backs have gone on a few overlapping runs past the wing-backs today.

Is that the Alan Knill effect? The former Sheffield United assistant manager has recently joined Wales' coaching staff for the rest of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Goalless friendlies might be a hard sell for neutrals but, where Robert Page and his Wales players are concerned, that was an encouraging half.

Wales have been the better side, keeping the ball comfortably and creating the game's only real chance in the form of Harry Wilson's missed penalty.

Some of the younger players, full debutant Brennan Johnson chief among them, have looked bright too.

More importantly for Page, arguably, is the fact that he's able to keep first-team players such as Gareth Bale and Ben Davies on the bench with Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Belarus in mind.

Robert Page will be asking for a bit more from Wales in the final third but if that penalty had gone in everything would be rosey so far.

  19. HALF-TIME - Finland 0-0 Walespublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 1 September 2021

No added on time and that's half time.

Wales should be ahead, but for Harry Wilson's tame penalty.

See you in a few minutes.
