    Going into the international break, here's the lay of the land at the bottom of the Championship table.

    Cardiff's defeat by Reading moves them close to the drop zone as their lack of form under Mick McCarthy continues.

    Barnsley slip further into trouble after their loss to Millwall while Peterborough defeat by Bristol City means they drop to second from bottom.

    Derby prop up the table after their points deduction, with the Rams six points off Peterborough as it stands.

    Here's how the top of the Championship looks tonight after today's fixtures in the second tier.

    Bournemouth move to the top of the Championship after coming from being to beat Sheffield United, while Coventry move third after defeating Fulham who drop to fifth.

    QPR move into the play-off positions courtesy of their win against Preston.

    • Leaders Forest Green Rovers cruised to a 2-0 victory over Carlisle thanks to first-half goals from Jamille Matt and Nicky Cadden.
    • High-lying Harrogate scraped to a 2-1 victory over 23rd-place Oldham, while Port Vale remain in the final automatic promotion spot after a thrilling 3-2 win over Leyton Orient.
    • At the other end of the table, Scunthorpe went bottom on goal difference thanks to a heavy 3-0 defeat to Newport.
    • Struggling Mansfield lost 1-0 to Barrow, while Walsall collected a valuable point at Exeter in a 2-2 draw.
    • And Bristol Rovers romped to a 3-1 win at rivals Swindon.
    • There were also wins for Bradford, Swindon, Salford, Sutton, Stevenage and Tranmere.

    • An extraordinary story at Fratton Park as Portsmouth hammered Sunderland 4-0 with help from a John Marquis brace.
    • That meant Wigan moved to top spot in the table after a 2-0 win at Gillingham.
    • Wycombe left it late to dramatically win 4-3 at home to Morecambe, who were 2-0 up, and thought they had rescued a point with the tie level at three goals each until 92 minutes in.
    • Cambridge scored twice in the final 11 minutes to make it 2-2 and cancel out Crewe's advantage.
    • Four goals were also shared between Lincoln and Plymouth, with the hosts grabbing a point through Adam May's 90th-minute penalty.
    • Three points also went the way of Accrington, Bolton, Rotherham, Doncaster, Charlton and Oxford.

    • Blackpool survive a second-half fightback from Blackburn to take the Lancashire bragging rights in a 2-1 win
    • Murray Wallace strikes late for Millwall to put pressure on Barnsley and Markus Schopp, while two goals in the last 10 minutes earn Hull a home win over Middlesbrough.
    • Derby-Swansea and Luton-Huddersfield finished goalless.

    Disappointment for Neil Warnock and Middlesbrough who after a terrific midweek win over Sheffield United, slide to a poor loss at Hull.

    They wasted bucketloads of chances and the Tigers took advantage late on.

    All over and Blackpool edge out their Lancashire rivals Blackburn to seal victory.

    The win comes despite losing captain Chris Maxwell to injury midway through the first half and Ben Brereton-Diaz getting off the mark once again for Rovers.
