Meanwhile in this afternoon's League Two action, it's top v bottom as leaders Forest Green Rovers will be looking to return to form at struggling Scunthorpe United.

Second-placed Harrogate Town, who are just a point off the top are at Colchester United while impressive Swindon Town in third host Rochdale.

Newly-promoted Sutton United are sixth after three wins on the spin and they head south down the M23 to face Crawley Town.

Second-from-bottom Oldham meanwhile taken on Stevenage.

In League One this afternoon, leaders Plymouth Argyle head to Oxford United hoping to hold off the advances of second-placed Wycombe who head to bottom-of-the-table Doncaster Rovers level on points and with a game in hand.

Third-placed Wigan make the relatively short journey to Bolton while Sunderland in fourth are at Gillingham.

Also keep an eye on a meeting of two promotion contenders at the New York Stadium between fifth-placed Rotherham and an improving Portsmouth, who are 12th.

At the other end, second-from-bottom Shrewsbury Town host MK Dons.

  16. A relegation six-pointer?published at 14:55 British Summer Time 16 October 2021

    Preston v Derby (15:00 BST)

Two struggling sides go head-to-head at Deepdale with both Preston and Derby surely eyeing up a chance for a rare win.

Preston have tasted victory just twice in their 11 Championship games so far this season and sit 18th, just three points off the bottom three.

Derby's struggles are well reported. The Rams' record is shade better than their opponents with three wins and five draws.

But their 12-point deduction sees them rooted to the bottom on two points.

  17. Can Hatters tame improving Lions?published at 14:54 British Summer Time 16 October 2021

Millwall v Luton Town (15:00 BST)

Gary Rowett's Millwall are quietly climbing the table thanks to an unbeaten run of seven games.

In fact, the Lions have lost just once in nine in all competitions as they sit within striking distance of the top six.

Just a point and a couple of places behind them are Luton. Draws have been more their trademark of late with five in the past seven games.

The Den has not been the happiest of hunting grounds either for them in recent memory, just one point from their past six league visits is the return and even that was a goalless draw in League One back in the 2007-08 season.

  19. High-flying Coventry at Blackburnpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 16 October 2021

Blackburn Rovers v Coventry City (15:00 BST)

Coventry have dropped down to fourth in the Championship table after Fulham's win earlier.

But a victory over eighth-placed Blackburn will see them leapfrog the Cottagers and go level on points with West Brom.

This is only the third league meeting this century between Blackburn and Coventry, with the other two coming last season - a 4-0 away win for Blackburn and a 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.

Coventry’s last away league win at Blackburn was back in the 1998-99 season, a 2-1 victory with goals from Darren Huckerby and Noel Whelan.

    Huddersfield v Hull (15:00 BST)

    Sorba ThomasImage source, Rex Features

If it weren't for Coventry City's superb start to the campaign, Huddersfield Town could make a pretty decent case for being this season's surprise package in the second tier.

Carlos Corberan's men spent much of last season in a relegation battle but sit in seventh going into the 12th round of matches this time out.

The Terriers also have one of the division's form men in their ranks, with winger Sorba Thomas back in the fold after making his international debut for Wales.

They host a Hull side who endured a tough run after winning on the opening day but wo have picked up four points from their last two matches.
