  2. Van Veen talent 'god-given' says Alexanderpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Motherwell 2-0 Aberdeen

Motherwell manager Graham Alexander praises Kevin van Veen to the heavens after another impressive show from the Dutch striker.

"I inherited him when I first worked at Scunthorpe," Alexander tells BBC Sportsound. "I have tried to sign him before coming here and I'm delighted to finally have him again.

"When he adds the discipline off the ball, he's a top player. I can't teach him anything on the ball.

"It's god-given and when he is in that sort of mood, he's hard to play against."

  3. Aberdeen a letdown in both boxes - Glasspublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Motherwell 2-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glasssays his side "suffered" at both ends of the pitch in the defeat to Motherwell.

"When you have as much of the ball as we did, you need to do something with it," Glass tells BBC Sportsound.

"I think defensively it was a bigger disappointment. We were on top and they swung it in our box once and we suffered.

"We suffered at both ends of the pitch. When they are clinging on at 1-0, it's a different game."

  4. Martindale 'fairly happy' with Livi's first pointpublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Livingston manager David Martindale told BBC Scotland: "We're away from home, we've got a clean sheet and that's the first point of the season so I'm fairly happy with the result.

"I was really delighted with Max Stryjek's performance.

"When I looked at the fixture list, I always thought the first six games was going to be a tough run-in. Once we get all our players back I think we'll be in a really good place."

  5. Goals will come for Griffiths - McPakepublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Dundee 0-0 Livingston

Dundee manager James McPake tells BBC Scotland: "We had three or four really good chances in the first half that we've got to be scoring. We could've been comfortable in the first half.

"Second half was just a really poor game. It just became a battle. What I was happy with was how we defended our box.

"Leigh Griffiths gets 90 minutes, which is a massive bonus for us. You can see he's a threat, still. He didn't want to come off. The goals will come, he's proved that throughout his career."

  7. United lack killer instinct - Courtspublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

FT: St Mirren 0-0 Dundee United

Dundee United manager Thomas Courts tells BBC Scotland: "We certainly created a lot of good chances and had some good combination play. We inherited a team that didn't create a lot of chances last year so it's a bit of a breakthrough for us.

"Hopefully the killer instinct is the next part of our team."

  8. Celtic's perseverance pleases Postecogloupublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Ross County

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou tells BBC Sportsound: “It was one we had to persevere in. We needed a goal to open to them up. When you don’t get it, it gives them confidence and they defended well.

“It was Ajeti’s first game in ages and Jota’s first game for the club, it’s not going to be as smooth as it would be if you had Kyogo in there.

“We’ve seen in other games if we score early it opens the game up. The info we gave to the whole group at half-time was stick to our principles.”

The Celtic boss adds that he thought debutants Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota were “excellent”.

  9. Goodwin aggrieved by disallowed goalpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

FT: St Mirren 0-0 Dundee Utd

St Mirren manager Jim Goowin tells BBC Scotland: "I thought we had a decent goal chopped off.

"Curtis Main and the defender were grappling with each other and it's a brilliant finish from Eammon Brophy. That's the fine margins we're playing to unfortunately.

"Dundee United will be thinking they could have been 2-0 up by that point because they did have the clearer chances.

"I thought our two debutants - Matt Millar and Connor Ronan - were excellent. We threw them in at the deep end but you can see what they bring to the team."

  10. 'Well on their waypublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Motherwell 2-0 Aberdeen

That's three Premiership wins on the spin now for Graham Alexander's Motherwell.

The Fir Park men clinically disposed of Aberdeen and are handily placed in fourth, just two points off the top.

Kevin van Veen opened the scoring and the Dutch forward continues to look a shrewd signing.

  11. Ajeti nets timely doublepublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

    FT: Celtic 3-0 Ross County

Can Albian Ajeti resurrect his Celtic career?

The Swiss striker has flattered to deceive too often, but filled the void left by injured Kyogo today with a second-half double putting the game beyond County.

Ajeti is at least guaranteed for a run of games as he bids to show he can deliver on a regular basis.

  15. FULL-TIME Dundee 0-0 Livingstonpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

No goals at Dens Park either with Leigh Griffiths a frustrated man on his Dundee return.

  16. FULL-TIME St Mirren 0-0 Dundee Unitedpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 11 September 2021

St Mirren are still searching for their first Scottish Premiership win of the season after being held to a stalemate by Dundee United in Paisley.

It is now five without victory for Jim Goodwin's side, with only Livingston and Ross County below them.

Eamonn Brophy had a goal disallowed and Richard Tait was denied by a fine save in their best two opportunities.

However, Dundee United were worthy of a point, with Marc McNulty hitting a post in the second half.

The visitors - who remain in seventh - might be left to rue injuries that forced off defenders Liam Smith and Ryan Edwards.

Aberdeen had the bulk of the possession but struggled to create clear-cut chances all afternoon.

This was Aberdeen’s fifth game in a row without a win and also saw Motherwell leapfrog them into fourth place in the table.
