    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

It's getting a bit firey. The home fans whistle as Granada take a bit of time over a throw and then Frenkie de Jong shoves a visiting player when he is denied the chance to take a quick free-kick.

Not happy times in the Catalan capital.

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

    Oh my, nearly 2-0!

Darwin Machis is causing all sorts of bother to the Barca defence. He runs down the left, cuts back in and crosses for Jorge Molina to fire a shot just over.

The visitors look much more dangerous right now.

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

And again with the ball over the top. Philippe Coutinho chips towards Memphis Depay in the box but a Granada head nods the ball back to the keeper.

One thing you will get from Memphis is eagerness and movement.

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

Barca get Memphis Depay in behind the Granada defence but he is quickly crowded out and forced to recycle the ball back for a chipped ball over the top for Sergino Dest that skips out of play.

It's a bit better from the home side.

  5. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

Darwin Machis gets his head to the corner first but he can only nod it backwards.

  6. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

Granada again on the attack. Darwin Machis is allowed to travel again with the ball before setting up a shot that deflects wide for another corner.

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

Ronald Koeman scratches his head as he stands on the touchline. Well, yeah.

  8. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

Philippe Coutinho cuts inside and goes down. He thinks he's been tripped by Monchu in the box. But he hasn't. He's kicked the Granada player if anything.

    Barcelona 0-1 Granada

I said you might be here like you were slowing down for the scene of accident. Even I didn't think they'd fall apart quite so soon.

    Domingos Duarte

IT DOESN'T RAIN, IT ONLY POURS!

Sergio Busquets clears the initial corner but not far and the ball is crossed back in by Sergio Escudero for Domingos Duarte to head in largely unchallenged at the back post.

Whistles of derision from the stands.

    Barcelona 0-0 Granada

Seven big days for Barcelona. The first of their three-game sprint is under way.

The low attendance crowd here and spread far and wide across the stands. You can still read the 'Mes que un club' written into the seats.

Here come the teams. Just enough time for you to go grab a drink before we get cracking. If you follow Barca, you might want to make it a stiff one.

This is an intriguing one tonight. You may well recall that Granada got one over on Barca at the Nou Camp last season, coming from behind to win 2-1 at the end of April, thanks to goals from Darwin Machis and Jorge Molina.

They also came very close to knocking Barca out of the Copa del Rey before a remarkable late comeback saw the Blaugrana win it 5-3 in extra-time. Barca would go on to win the competition.

    Barcelona v Granada (20:00 BST)

As a result of the international break and the postponement of the game with Sevilla, Barcelona haven't played a La Liga game in three weeks, leaving them with two games in hand on pretty much every one else.

The next seven days sees them play three games, including this one tonight (followed by a trip to Cadiz and hosting Levante) before they return to Champions League action in a big game at Benfica.

    No rest for the wicked.

This is a Barca starting XI that feels something of a response to the Bayern defeat. There are four changes, which includes Philippe Coutinho coming into the attack. Young, on-loan winger Yusuf Demir also plays. Alejandro Balde and Sergino Dest come into the defence.

Pedri has joined a lengthy injury list and misses the game, with Gerard Pique one of those dropping to the bench, perhaps with an eye on the hectic run of fixtures coming up.

And here is the Granada starting XI, which includes seven changes and a place for Luis Abram, who impressed after coming on against Betis. Darwin Machis and Jorge Molina, scorers in the win at Nou Camp last season, are up front.

So what side has Ronald Koeman picked for tonight's game?

    Here you go...

  18. Solid startpublished at 19:47 British Summer Time 20 September 2021

    Barcelona v Granada (20:00 BST)

Barca haven't started the league season too badly at all. They have two wins and a draw from their three games to date - a testament to the fact that for all their woes, they do still have plenty of talent in the squad.

Tonight, they face a Granada side without a win to their name in four games and just two points on the board.

It should be a home win. But the wind is swirling, there isn't a great turnout from the fans and a sense of doom in the air.

If anyone with Barcelona loyalties was still in denial about the reality of their current predicament, they will surely have been shaken out of it by the humbling 3-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich.

Last week's Champions League opener was a huge, cold bucket of water, straight to the face of a club once seen as the pinnacle of football excellence but now on its knees, saddled with debt and stripped of its former talisman.
