    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

A further stoppage at The Hawthorns as Matthew Clarke receives more treatment after his earlier injury.

West Brom defender Clarke has been wrapped in a bandage around his chin and the back of his head but needs more attention, causing the game to stop once more.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Swansea

Bournemouth's unbeaten run came to an end earlier this week against Preston and they take on Swansea today hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the Championship.

But the Swans have started well here and have pressed the Cherries for the opening goal.

A cross comes in towards Jake Bidwell but his shot takes a wayward turn for a throw-in.

Former Cardiff City striker Danny Ward, now at Huddersfield, receives a warm welcome from the Bluebirds faithful, as Terriers captain Jonathan Hogg receives treatment in the middle of the field.

The midfielder went down untouched, immediately signalling to the bench, it looks like his afternoon is over less than 10 minutes into the contest.

    Luton 0-0 Stoke

Harry Cornick has an early sight of goal for Luton but the in-form forward's shot is straight at Stoke keeper Josef Bursik, who has also saved a Sonny Bradley header.

  5. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Millwall 0-0 Derby

Better stuff from Derby now as they work the ball into the Millwall half as they chase an early goal at The Den.

Phil Jagielka works the ball to Lee Buchanan, who does well to play it through to the onrushing Jason Knight.

He then puts a low ball in towards Festy Ebosele but his final effort is blocked away by the hosts.

ALL Fulham but no early goals at London Road.

A reminder this is the league's leakiest defence v the league's most potent attack.

  7. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

There is a lengthy stoppage at The Hawthorns as Matthew Clarke goes down and receives treatment.

The West Brom defender is cleared to play on much to the relief of the home side, who are aiming to keep up the pressure at the top of the table against Middlesbrough today.

  8. Postpublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Millwall 0-0 Derby

Derby, at the bottom of the Championship table, need wins and need them now.

They're away at Millwall today and it's all the Lions so far in the early stages with the hosts winning a quickfire set of corners as the Rams scramble to clear their lines.

Can the visitors get off the mark and deal with this early pressure?

  9. Brewster finally breaks Blades duckpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

Big news from the game at Ewood Park where Sheffield United lead at Blackburn thanks to Rhian Brewster's first league goal in his 35th appearance for the club.

And, as you can see, it was an acrobatic one.

No other early goals in the second tier.

The Cherries are honouring some of their past greats today, including their legendary goalscorer Ted MacDougall (pictured third from right, in the grey sweater).

Any modern striker would envy MacDougall's record. Prolific at Norwich and Southampton, his first spell at Bournemouth was his most fruitful with a breathtaking 103 goals in 146 league appearances.

Millwall v DerbyImage source, PA Media

Upwardly mobile Birmingham City will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce when they host a Reading side who have lost four successive matches - remember, that one now starts at 15:30 GMT.

Managerless Cardiff City go in search of their first win since 12 September when they host a Huddersfield side who sit just outside the play-off places.

Fourth-placed Coventry City suffered their first home defeat of the season at the hands of Swansea in midweek and they'll be looking to get back on track against a Bristol City side who have won four and lost four of their away games so far this season. The Robins will be led by Curtis Fleming with boss Nigel Pearson unwell. We send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Ninth-placed Millwall, with three wins from their past four games, host a Derby side who are rooted to the bottom of the table after their 12-point deduction for going into administration and are without a win since 29 September.

Nottingham Forest's march up the table has hit the buffers after two draws and a defeat in their past three games and they host a Preston side who will be buoyed by inflicting a first defeat of the season on leaders Bournemouth in midweek.

Former Rochdale midfielder Joe Thompson is among the panel.

Only one point and two places separate these sides in the Championship.

Stoke City stopped the rot last week against Cardiff and snuck back into the top six with the win over Blackpool on Wednesday - their first win for more than a month in the league.

Luton Town had the right reaction to defeat to Preston at Deepdale. They were the midweek party poopers, ruining Neil Warnock's record-breaking night with three goals in five minutes to beat Middlesborough.

A place in the play-offs will be added motivation for Hatters boss Nathan Jones. He hasn’t beaten Stoke in two attempts after his ill-fated 10 month spell managing The Potters.

  15. Can Rovers recover from midweek mauling?published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

Blackburn v Sheff Utd (15:00 GMT)

    Fulham scoreImage source, Getty Images

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray was in a reflective mood after his side's chastening 7-0 home defeat by Fulham on Wednesday.

"We'll pore over it with the team, but it's only the second time in a year we've lost by more than one goal," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"If it was happening on a regular basis then you could say there was a soft underbelly, but I don't think that's the case."

As anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of a heavy defeat as either a player or a fan will know, the thing you want most is a chance to put it right quickly.

Rovers have just that at Ewood Park today against a Sheffield United outfit who just can't seem to put any kind of run of results together.

Barnsley v Hull City (15:00 GMT)

    Keane Lewis-PotterImage source, Rex Features

Barnsley recorded just their second win of the season when they beat Derby in midweek.

The Reds parted company with boss Markus Schopp two days earlier and will hope caretaker Joseph Laumann can repeat the trick against another of the division's strugglers today.

Like the Tykes, Hull City have just two wins from their 16 league games this season.

Grant McCann's side are looking to avoid an immediate return to League One after winning the title last time out. A defeat today could leave them as many as five points adrift of safety.

  18. Baggies look to continue home comfortspublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

West Brom v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

Expectations are high at third-placed West Brom.

Despite sitting just four points behind second-placed Fulham, some fans aren't too happy with the style of football employed by manager Valerien Ismael.

The Baggies are in imperious form at The Hawthorns though, with six wins and two draws from their eight home matches so far this campaign.

Standing in their way today are one of the league's most Jekyll and Hyde sides, Middlesbrough.

Neil Warnock's men recorded three wins on the spin to move into play-off contention but have subsequently lost their past two to drop back down into mid-table.

  19. Can generous Posh stop Mitrovic?published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Image caption,

"If you've got 19 league goals this season clap your hands..."

Death, taxes and Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring goals in the Championship.

The Serbian is in incredible early-season form for Fulham.

Mitrovic now has nine goals in his past five league games, despite getting just the one in their thumping 7-0 win at Blackburn in midweek.

Looking to stop the league's most lethal striker and highest scoring team today is... the league's leakiest defence.

However, it's not all bad news for Peterborough.

Posh have taken seven points from their past four games to move out of the Championship relegation zone and, regardless of results today, will spend the international break above the drop zone.

  20. Bournemouth look to show bouncebackabilitypublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    Bournemouth v Swansea (15:00 GMT)

The last remaining unbeaten record in the EFL fell by the wayside on Tuesday night when Bournemouth suffered a surprise defeat by midtable Preston.

Prior to that midweek reverse Scott Parker's Cherries had looked to be in imperious form and, despite that loss, they're still six points clear of third-placed West Brom.

They'll look to get back to winning ways today against a Swansea side who are coming into some form after a slow start under Russell Martin.

The Swans have won four of their past five matches and start the day just two points behind sixth-placed Stoke City.
