Not much to report in this game. The crowd has settled down play being mostly contested in midfield. Feels like this is one to learn from and move on for Southampton.

Watford will come at them again as they continue to push for an equaliser.

Looks like Max Aarons is done for the day. Possibly longer. He's been helped around the side of the pitch by two physios.

This is a fascinating end to the game, Newcastle are starting to really wobble here and I can understand why Eddie Howe wants to make a change.

It's been a good reaction from Watford but they just don't have the quality to score a goal.

Newcastle have weathered a bit of a response from Watford, with the game more even now.

New signing Philippe Coutinho is named on the bench for Aston Villa as Steven Gerrard makes two changes to the side that lost 1-0 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup on Monday.

Lucas Digne makes his debut after joining the club from Everton on Thursday, while Morgan Sanson replaces the suspended John McGinn in midfield.
