  1. goal

GOAL: Barrow 1-0 Ipswich Townpublished at 26 mins

    Jordan Stevens

There's the goal that's been coming.

A well-worked short corner routine from Barrow finds its way to the on-running Jordan Stevens on the edge of the penalty area to fire towards goal.

His right-foot shot takes a deflection off the back of Idris El Mizouni on its way towards goal and flashes past Christian Walton.

  2. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Josh Gordon continuing to ask questions of Ipswich centre-back Cameron Burgess.

He almost gets away from him again from an attempted through ball.

Home side continuing to look the brighter side.

  3. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Penalty appeals from the home fans.

Josh Gordon goes to ground in the area as he tries to nick the ball off Cameron Burgess.

Burgess took his time to try and clear and as his foot came through to do so, Gordon tangled with him.

Nothing of interest for referee James Bell though.

  4. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Ipswich (sort of) make a first foray into Barrow's penalty box.

Scott Fraser tries to thread a ball up to James Norwood and he and Matt Penney can't quite combine on the one-two before Barrow keeper Paul Farman sweeps up.

  5. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Superb pressing off the ball once more from Barrow.

They are pinning Ipswich deep into their half and the home crowd are getting behind them with "oooohhhhs" and "aaaahhhhhsss" every time a visiting player waits to receive a pass.

  6. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Barrow making all the early running here.

A chance for Robbie Gotts as the ball gets threaded into him just inside the penalty area from the left by Patrick Brough.

Connects with his right instep and that one flashes just over Christian Walton's crossbar.

  7. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Barrow with the first corner of the evening.

Ipswich don't fully clear it and Patrick Brough almost gets played back in on the edge of the six-yard box only for the offside flag to go up.

  8. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Barrow pressing well on Ipswich in their own half and Sone Aluko is the latest to lose a bit of patience for the visitors and give away a free-kick for being a bit too heavy on Barrow skipper Ollie Banks.

  9. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Ipswich midfielder Tom Carroll penalised for just being a bit too heavy for a 50/50 challenge.

A rare appearance for the former Spurs and QPR midfielder this evening.

  10. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Speculative strike from Barrow front man Josh Gordon goes well wide of goal.

Looked for a second like he'd got in behind Ipswich centre-back Cameron Burgess.

  11. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Barrow 0-0 Ipswich Town

Sedate and patient start to this one from both sides.

Barrow taking their time to play it around at the back and Ipswich doing very much the same.

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

Ipswich in their black third kit get the match started with Barrow in their blue and white strip.

  17. A game of few chances in original tiepublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2021

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Barrow

We're here this evening after neither side could find a way through at Portman Road 10 days ago.

That result also proved to be Paul Cook's last match in charge of Ipswich Town as the club sacked him later the same evening.

Ipswich's search for a permanent successor to Paul Cook continues leaving John McGreal to again take charge as interim manager.

The former Town centre-back looks after selection for a third game following a 2-0 defeat by Charlton and a 1-1 draw at Wigan on Saturday.

Barrow are in their second season back in the football league after they finished 20th on their return last season in League Two.

Mark Cooper has been in charge of the Bluebirds since the summer after they had a quick turnover of managers last season including David Dunn and Michael Jolley with Rob Kelly keeping things going in between.

Barrow come into this replay off a first league win in 10 matches on Saturday against promotion-chasing Swindon Town so the mood will have been lifted.
