Wales manager Robert Page says: “The big one is Belgium. Off the back of a great performance against them last month, everyone will be talking about that.

“They’re an outstanding outfit but we’ve proved we’re prepared to go toe-to-toe with them.”

Here's France coach Didier Deschamps on what the Nations League means to him: "When we come up against sides who are a bit weaker on paper, players are aware of that and it’s difficult to find the ‘adrenalin’, so to speak, to motivate yourself and be highly competitive.

"When you look at the groups, they’re the best national sides, since League A is made up of the best national teams in Europe. For us, topping the group after defeating Portugal away from home was what allowed us to qualify for this final four, and that was hugely satisfying.

"We did everything we could to make sure we got through, and when you get to finals, it’s better to win them!"

  6. When are the games?published at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2021

Four of the six matchdays will take place in June due to the winter scheduling of the World Cup, with the others in September.

The four group winners in League A will then advance to the knockout final in June 2023 and the group winners in the other three leagues will all be promoted for the 2024-25 edition.

The teams finishing fourth in the groups in Leagues A and B will be relegated, with those who finish bottom in the League C groups entering play-offs in March 2024.

The two teams defeated in those ties will be relegated to League D.

  7. Wales get Belgium againpublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2021

Wales and Belgium are inseparable. They've just played against each other in World Cup qualifying, they were in the same Euro 2016 qualifying group and of course they met in the quarter-finals at Euro 2016, where Wales claimed the greatest win in their history.

Judging by the initial reaction on social media, Wales fans are looking forward to visiting Belgium again, as well as Poland and the Netherlands.

It's a tough group but one which should offer some lively trips for the supporters.
