Linda Beasley: England are so negative. Reece James passes the ball backwards more than forwards, & that says everything about the manager's mindset in that he is the only outfield player to keep his place. Stop going backwards!

Mark: Any England fans genuinely believing Gareth's going to bring it home at the World Cup or even get out the group needs to give their head a wobble.

That goal seems to have knocked England's confidence. They were playing some decent stuff in the opening 15 minutes but now passes are going astray and the loose touch count is growing.

Theo: Maybe we need a Brendan McCullum-esque character to take over the England football team... Southgate has turned us into a very cautious team. Where’s the expression gone?

The problem with having a right-footed left-back is that the crosses need to be spot on otherwise it's food and drink for the goalkeeper.

This time Reece James' cross sails straight into the hands of Denes Dibusz.

Well, at least we've had a goal...

Hungary had barely stepped foot inside the England half before that, but find themselves in the lead.

It's clinical from Roland Sallai, but Gareth Southgate will not be impressed with the way his side defended there.
