At the other end of the table, it's not looking too hot for Reading, whose morale must be rock-bottom after this defeat coming on top of Saturday's FA Cup humbling at non-league Kidderminster.

  4. Lee Johnson red card caps awful nightpublished at 21:52 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2022

Lee Johnson fracasImage source, PA Media

As if losing at home to a hat-trick being scored by one of your old players wasn't bad enough, Sunderland boss Lee Johnson is facing a touchline ban.

A nasty challenge in front of the dugout late in the Lincoln City's 3-2 win saw a fracas on the pitch between some players.

Johnson became involved and the former Bristol City boss - who had been taunted by Chris Maguire after his opening goal for the Imps - was sent to the stands.

One to forget for Johnson and Sunderland.....

    Reading 0-7 Fulham

As about as emphatic as you can get....

Fulham romp home and back up to second with a huge win.

Reading are thumped and their fans voice their disapproval as much as they can as the final whistle blows.

Is that curtains for boss Veljko Paunovic?

Ironic cheers as Reading force a corner....

Still no luck though for the hosts as a foul is given against Andy Carroll as Marek Rodak tried to punch it clear.

    Time for an eighth goal?!

    Aleksandar Mitrovic

Make that goal SEVEN of the night and Aleksandar Mitrovic's 24TH of the season!

Rodrigo Muniz set it up with a low shot across goal as he beat the offside trap, Luke Southwood could only parry it away and Mitrovic ran in unapposed to tap home the rebound.

All getting a bit petulant now in the closing stages as Aleksandar Mitrovic ruffles the feather of Tom Holmes after a few words are said after an offside flag goes up.

Almost the nightmare over for Reading in this one.

There's no stopping Forest Green Rovers at the moment after a 2-0 win at Colchester United.

Jamille Matt's early goal and a second in stoppage time from Josh March puts the Gloucestershire side nine points clear at the top of League Two.

Second-placed Tranmere Rovers could only draw 1-1 at mid-table Salford City.

Aramide Oteh had put the hosts ahead but Paul Glatzel levelled with 20 minutes to go.

Earlier Mansfield Town came away with a 3-2 win at home to Swindon Town.

  11. Maguire returns to haunt Sunderlandpublished at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2022

It's all over at the Stadium of Light and Lincoln City's Chis Maguire will be taking home the match ball and a very warm glow after their 3-1 win.

Released by Sunderland in the summer he made no secret of his opinions of Black Cats boss Lee Johnson after blasting the Imps ahead in the first half.

He got a second after the break before Ross Stewart pulled one back.

But Maguire had the last laugh with a good finish for the third as Sunderland remain second after blowing the chance to go three points clear at the top of League One.

Lincoln move up to 16th place as a result of the win.

Elsewhere Milton Keynes Dons were 1-0 winners at home over rivals AFC Wimbledon after the visitors were reduced to 10 men in the first half following two bookings for Nesta Guinness-Walker

More changes for Fulham as Harrison Reed is replaced by Nathaniel Chalobah, a former Reading loanee several seasons back.

  17. Wycombe closing the gappublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2022

Sunderland's impending defeat at home to Lincoln City is music to the ears of Wycombe Wanderers fans.

The Chairboys are now 2-0 up at Bolton Wanderers - Jack Grimmer's 52nd-minute goal in the late kick-off means as it stands Gareth Ainsworth's third-placed side are just a point off Sunderland.

Meanwhile, 10-man AFC Wimbledon still trail 1-0 at Milton Keynes Dons.

    Make that six....

Tosin Adarabioyo gets in on the action as he is allowed the opportunity to head home unchallenged from a deep floating corner by Harry Wilson.

Carnage as many of a Reading persuasion chose to leave the stadium and make an early dash home.

  20. Forest Green still in charge in League Twopublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2022

There's less than 10 minutes left in our two remaining League Two matches.

The fourth tier's leaders Forest Green remain 1-0 up against Colchester United after Jamille Matt's first-half strike.

It looks like they will go nine points clear after second-placed Tranmere pulled a goal back at Salford City - Paul Glatzel's 70th-minute strike has pulled it back to 1-1.
