Inessa Kaagman, a set piece specialist, doing what we've seen time after time with her. An excellent delivery from her into the box. It was a great header in the end.

Zinsberger potentially could have done a bit better, she did get a hand to it. I have to say Arsenal should have been more aware, they know that Brighton are set-piece specialists and that's where their goals come from.

    Arsenal 0-1 Brighton

That goal from Brighton was their first in eight games in all competitions.

It's also just their second ever WSL goal against Arsenal. Stunning stuff, really.

    Emma Koivisto

Inessa Kaagman sends a lovely ball into the centre the area which Emma Koivisto does tremendously well to flick beyond Mauela Zinsberger with a header.

  4. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Another set piece for Brighton in a dangerous position.

Kim Little handles the ball about 30 yards out and just to the left of centre.

What can Brighton do with this one...

  5. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

That free-kick is well defended, but Brighton maintain possession and eventually force a corner.

It is sent in to the near post and there are shouts for another corner to be given after Vivianne Miedema appears to get a touch. Nothing is doing and Arsenal survive that spell of pressure.

  6. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Brighton manage to find space on the left.

Inessa Kaagman is on the ball and tries to slip a pass through for Emma Kullberg. Laura Wienroither steams in with a challenge.

A free-kick is given in a dangerous area...

  7. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Arsenal are all over Brighton in these early minutes.

Even when Brighton have found themselves on the ball, they have lacked composure in possession and simply gift it back to the WSL leaders.

  8. 'Williamson makes real difference'published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2022

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

    Samantha Miller

Leah Williamson went down injured against Manchester City and it was a big worry for Arsenal, she seems to be OK for this match.

You could tell that she was a massive miss for them (when she was out injured), she solidifies their backline. She's a real leader and does makes a difference - even in the final third, she helps to build attacks.

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

So, so close to the opener for Arsenal!

Maya Le Tissier is on the line to clear a header from Vivianne Miedema.

  10. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Goodness me. Goalkeeper Megan Walsh takes her eye off a pass played back to her by Victoria Williams and she lets it slip by her.

Mercifully it goes wide. That could have been so much worse than just a corner.

  11. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Brighton have been on a miserable recent run and Arsenal are certainly not the side they will want to be facing right now.

And it's not just because they are the WSL leaders.

Brighton have actually lost more WSL matches against Arsenal (six) than they have against any other side in the competition.

  12. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Brighton

Arsenal pressing high from the get go.

Brighton goalkeeper Megan Walsh finds herself on the ball inside the first minute and she is pressured into a wayward pass.

Arsenal eventually force and corner and play it short. Nothing comes of it.

  15. We're going to have a go - Powellpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2022

    Arsenal v Brighton (19:30 GMT)

Brighton ended a run of six successive losses in all competition with that draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

Seagulls boss Hope Powell now wants consistency from her side.

"We recognise Arsenal will have more of the ball. It's another good test for us, to see whether we can carry that mentality, that fight over into the next game.

"It is about the consistency. Perhaps in other games where we've tried to be a little bit more expansive, progressive, it has left us a little bit open.

"But we're going to have a go on Thursday. I think it's a good foundation, getting a point from Chelsea. Why not?"

With international moves permitted until midnight tonight, there is a good chance there will be more news as the night progresses.
