Frenkie de Jong slips it through to Ousmane Dembele. He whips it across the six-yard area but Nacho is back for Real Madrid to nod it away.

Ferran Torres pings the corner to Dani Alves outside the box, he hits it first time and it's deflected over the bar by Luka Modric. He caught that well!

Marco Asensio lays it off to Vinicius Junior on the edge of the box but Dani Alves is there to stop him getting a shot away.

Karim Benzema backheels it to Luka Modric. Gerard Pique reads it, slides in and wins it back for Barca.

Sergio Busquets then gives it away sloppily at the other end.

Vinicius Junior is already causing a few problems with his pace. He gets in behind down the right and gets a shot off but it's straight at Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Ronald Araújo tries to keep up with him and he might have just twinged his hamstring...

Gerard Pique hooks it forward. It's chested down to Luuk de Jong and he volleys it but it's well blocked. He struck that well too!

Toni Kroos wants too long on the ball and Gavi races back to nip in and steal it off him. He wins a free-kick too.

It's given to debutant Ferran Torres on the right, he cuts inside, but runs into two players.

Thibaut Courtois is put under pressure and he ends up rushing a pass out to his left.

But Marco Asensio reacts quickly and carries it forward. He skies the shot in the end.

Luka Modric flicks it on to Karim Benzema. He finds Dani Carvajal on the right but his early cross is cooly chested back to the keeper by Gerard Pique.

Ousmane Dembele then breaks straight down the other end but it's out for a goal kick to Real.

Real Madrid are controlling things at the moment.

It eventually comes to Karim Benzema on the edge of the box but he curls it wide and over. Decent build-up from Real though.

It's been a contrasting season for these sides.

Real Madrid are currently five points clear at the top of the La Liga table - though second-placed Sevilla have a game in hand.

Carlo Ancelotti's side come into this match off the back of a 4-1 win over Valencia too, whereas Barcelona were held to a draw by Granada, who scored a late equaliser after Gavi was sent off for Xavi's side.

Barcelona are down in sixth place in the table, a huge 17 points off Real Madrid, so could do with some silverware to get their season back on track.

This is the third year the competition is in a four-team format.

Traditionally, the winner of La Liga met the winner of the Copa del Rey, with games played on a home and away basis until it was changed in 2019.

Now, the four sides who participate in the competition are the La Liga winners and runners-up from the previous season, and the Copa del Rey winners and runners-up.

That means 2021 Copa del Rey winners Barcelona are up againt league runners-up Real Madrid tonight.

La Liga champions Atletico Madrid take on the cup runners-up Athletic Bilbao tomorrow.

There are three changes to the Barcelona side from their 1-1 draw with Granada.

Ferran Torres makes his full debut, while Ronald Araújo and Frenkie de Jong also come in. Eric Garcia, Nico Gonzalez and Ferran Jutgla.

The first of two Spanish Super Cup semi-finals takes place tonight and it's a real treat... an El Clásico.

Barcelona take on Real Madrid as the two Spanish giants aim for a place in Sunday's final. Kick-off is around 15 minutes away.
