    Ferran Torres pings the corner to Dani Alves outside the box, he hits it first time and it's deflected over the bar by Luka Modric. He caught that well!

    But Marco Asensio reacts quickly and carries it forward. He skies the shot in the end.

    It's been a contrasting season for these sides.

    Real Madrid are currently five points clear at the top of the La Liga table - though second-placed Sevilla have a game in hand.

    Carlo Ancelotti's side come into this match off the back of a 4-1 win over Valencia too, whereas Barcelona were held to a draw by Granada, who scored a late equaliser after Gavi was sent off for Xavi's side.

    Barcelona are down in sixth place in the table, a huge 17 points off Real Madrid, so could do with some silverware to get their season back on track.

    This is the third year the competition is in a four-team format.

    Traditionally, the winner of La Liga met the winner of the Copa del Rey, with games played on a home and away basis until it was changed in 2019.

    Now, the four sides who participate in the competition are the La Liga winners and runners-up from the previous season, and the Copa del Rey winners and runners-up.

    That means 2021 Copa del Rey winners Barcelona are up againt league runners-up Real Madrid tonight.

    La Liga champions Atletico Madrid take on the cup runners-up Athletic Bilbao tomorrow.
