  1. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 57 mins

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

    But it doesn't count!

It is ruled out for offside in the build up - it looks like Frenkie de Jong touched the ball in an offside position when the first shot came in.

    Gavi

    Barcelona are back in front!

Espanyol are unable to clear Pedri shot inside the box and the ball squirms through to Gavi, who smashes into the roof of the net.

  3. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

There's almost a moment for Javier Puado as Barcelona fail to properly clear a corner and as the ball is sent back into the box Puado turns to break clear of the defence but Sergino Dest is there to sweep up.

  4. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

Adama Traore is involved again but overhits his cross this time as he tries to find Jordi Alba at the far post.

  5. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

Adama Traore whips in a dangerous cross from the right as Barcelona make a positive start to the second half, but no-one can meet it inside the box.

Espanyol are much more compact in the defence, keen to not be exposed like they were at the start of the game.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

Former Manchester City defender Eric Garcia is on for the second half, replacing Ronald Araujo who has just sat down in the dugout with a bag of ice strapped to his leg.

    We're back under way.

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

That was a really fun half of football. We had two goals and some feisty challenges typical of a derby. I'm sure there's plenty more to come after the break.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

Jordi Alba should do better as he connects with the ball at the far post but ends up doing a better job of clearing the ball than the Espanyol defence could and that's half time.

I think Espanyol's social media admin enjoyed that one...

    Espanyol 1-1 Barcelona

Excellent atmosphere with the home fans roaring after that stunning equaliser.

Sergi Darder tries to grab a quick second as he charges through the middle and he goes for goal from distance again but this time he is well off target.

    Sergi Darder

    Beautiful finish!

Raul de Tomas does really well to hold the ball up inside the Barcelona area before feeding Sergi Darder on the edge of the area and he is given plenty of space to bend a fine strike into the far corner.

All square and all to play for!

    Espanyol 0-1 Barcelona

A routine save for Marc-Andre ter Stegen at his near post as he gets down to keep out Adria Pedrosa's effort.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 38 mins

    Espanyol 0-1 Barcelona

Diego Lopez denies Adama Traore a first goal in Barcelona colours as the winger's shot hits the Espanyol goalkeeper's chest. The visitors keep the attack alive before Ferran Torres heads over.

    Espanyol 0-1 Barcelona

Ferran Torres tries to go through the middle to chase a good ball forward by Adama Traore but he loses out to the two defenders he's got in close company.

  16. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Espanyol 0-1 Barcelona

Jordi Alba wants a penalty for handball as his cross hits Keidi Bare. VAR has quick check but no spot kick is awarded. Seems a fair decision to me looking at the replay.

    Espanyol 0-1 Barcelona

Important tackle by Leandro Cabrera as Adama Traore threatened to race clear of the defence not for the first time this evening.

The Espanyol defence is doing a pretty decent job of keeping the on-loan Wolves winger relatively quiet.

  18. Postpublished at 30 mins

Gerard Pique is penalised as he goes through the back of Raul de Tomas and Espanyol have a free kick some 30 yards from goal. The ball is sent in but Jordi Alba clears.
