They only got grips with the game when Rice came on, they have him to thank for getting into the next round.

Kidderminster were seconds away from getting the biggest shock in FA Cup history. It is heartbreaking and they did not leave anything out there

  4. 'Kidderminster were excellent'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Kidderminster 1-2 West Ham

    BBC One

West Ham goalscorer Declan Rice on BBC One: "Massive, massive respect to Kidderminster. We watched some videos of them this week and they've been flying. You could see it on the bench with their manager. We weren't at our best today and scraped it with two goals. They probably deserved it if I'm being honest. We need to improve if we want to push on but massive congratulations to them because they were excellent.

"The fans are on top of you and they will fight for every ball. It can be a shock to the system. We know what to expect but it's hard to get to grips with,. They were in great shape, pressed hard and they made some great substitutions but we're through to the next round so that's the most important thing."

Not much to report in this all Premier League affair with most of the play being contested in the middle. No chances yet.

Good start by Coventry and they have the game's first chance as Josh Eccles forces Willy Caballero to tip his effort behind.

Shane Long then has half a chance for Southampton but it doesn't trouble the Coventry keeper.

    Bonkers start.

Two attacks and two goals. This could be an epic.

Plenty of early attacking from Frank Lampard's Everton. Demarai Gray, Richarlison and Seamus Coleman have all had runs forward.

A big day for Frank Lampard's Everton. Can Frank Lampard's Everton get their first win?

Sorry, I needed to get a few Frank Lampard's Evertons out of my system early on.

    FT: Kidderminster 1-2 West Ham

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC One

That is agony for Kidderminster. The way they equalised and then the winner... Everything they put into this game. They should be immensely proud. How the fans turned up and gave them hope too... Such a great day in some ways but also devastating to go out the way they have done. They should be immensely proud.

    Kidderminster 1-2 West Ham

I think that might be the cruelest game I can remember.

Kiddy were superb in normal time and had victory stolen from them. They were just as good in extra-time and had their shot at glory nicked again at the very end.

The almost apologetic celebrations from the West Ham players says it all.

That is so cruel on Kidderminster, but their fans are up on their feet.

Credit to the professionalism of West Ham, they had players waiting and two or three could have put that in.

The performance is not going to win any awards but Chelsea's get the all-important W, coming from behind to win and put their name in the hat for the next round.

The Plymouth players are gutted, they gave it everything and came up just short.
