With those three chances, in this game, you have to take them. Three incredible chances for Giakoumakis. And it's Juranovic playing inside, causing mayhem for Rangers. He could have scored himself but passed it, and Giakoumakis has missed a third wonderful chance.

  10. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Giorgos Giakoumakis could have had a hat-trick by now...

This time the Greek striker does well to get on the end of a Josip Juranovic cross but doesn't connect cleanly with his shot from six yards and Allan McGregor is able to keep it out.

I can't see that being a booking for Callum McGregor. It's early in the game. Nothing malicious about the challenge. He just stops Scott Arfield in his tracks.

  15. McGregor - again - 'keeps Rangers in it'published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

That was a really, really good save. A reflex save. Giakoumakis gets it on target, maybe he could have hit it lower, but what a save. Allan McGregor shows his ability again to keep Rangers in this game. There was never a question he would start. Anyone who said he wouldn't play was fooling themselves.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 18 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic slice Rangers open with a swift passing move and Allan McGregor needs to be at his best to push away a rising shot from Giorgos Giakoumakis.

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Kenny Miller

    Quote Message

That's why Allan McGregor is in the team. The second save, a point-blank header from Giakoumakis, is instinctive. It all comes from a really slack pass from James Tavernier which allowed Jota in.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 14 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Allan McGregor bails out Rangers captain James Tavernier with a great double save.

Jota is on to Tavernier's terrible touch inside the penalty box and lets fly with a rocket that the keeper beats away at his near post.

Giorgos Giakoumakis attacks the looping rebound but McGregor is up in time to push away the striker's strong header.

  19. Celtic profit from 'electric start'published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2022

An electric start from Celtic, pinning Rangers in their own box. Every Rangers player was back within 30m of their own goal when Celtic scored. Now we'll see how they react: will they change anything, stay sitting back, or try and press higher?
