  3. McPake worried about Dundee's 'dangerous' positionpublished at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Dundee 1-2 Ross County

Dundee manager James McPake tells BBC Scotland: "We should've been 2-0 up through Max Anderson. I can't be too critical of the kid, he gets himself into a good position, but if we score that it's a different game.

"If we had went in at half-time at 1-0 we would still be frustrated. But to lose that goal in the last 30 seconds of the first half is absolutely criminal.

"I thought the decision-making all over the park was just ridiculous. Everything we spoke about before the game which we thought we had nailed down was badly lacking today.

"Am I worried about my job - no. What I'm worried about is winning football matches. My worry is that as a football club we're bottom of the league, we look in a very dangerous position, and we need to get wins on the board."

  4. 'We didn't start right' - Glasspublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Livingston 2-1 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass claims that the referee had a "clear view" of the penalty appeal his side were denied.

"The referee tells Lewis [Ferguson] that there were too many bodies in the way," Glass tells BBC Sportsound. "But I looked back at it and there are no bodies in the way, but I’m not going to complain about referees when it’s our performance that dictated the outcome.

On his side's performance, he added: “When you don't start games properly you’re always susceptible to that sort of result and I think it’s clear we didn’t start right.

“We didn’t really react until we went 2-0 down and you get what’s coming as a consequence

“The reason for that today was probably the mentality. Maybe thinking we’re a bit better than we are and that it’s going to be easier than it should be."

  5. Goodwin touts trio for Irelandpublished at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Hibernian 0-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound that match-winner Connor Ronan has been one of his "star performers" this season.

"He's a midfielder who scores goals and important goals more often than not," Goodwin says. "I've been banging the drum about him for a long time. I did that with [Jamie] McGrath last season and I'm happy to do it again with Connor.

"Stephen Kenny [Republic of Ireland manager] will go home with a really good report on him. I hope he's also going home with a good report on Joe Shaughnessy and Charles Dunne because both could play for the Republic of Ireland.

On goalkeeper Jak Alnwick: "He would kill me if I didn't give him the credit he deserves because sometimes I forget to mention him. He's one of the best keepers in the league."

  6. 'We should have scored three, four or five' - Maloneypublished at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Hibernian 0-1 St Mirren

Hibernian manager Shaun Maloney tells BBC Sportsound: "It was a game that was two very different halves for us.

"First half I thought we were way below the level that we showed against Hearts and then second half for the first 25 minutes we created so many opportunities.

"The difference between the result in the game was down to who was the most clinical. We should have scored three, four or five goals today.

Hibernian's only win in 2022 came in extra time of their Scottish Cup tie against Cove Rangers

"I thought the mentality was completely different second half and we created so many chances as a result. It gets frustrating when the players don't take them but I have to give full support to the players, particularly the attacking players, at some point they're going to become very clinical and at that point we're going to win games."

"Of course I'm concerned. We don't win games and the fans don't go home happy. Today we did enough to win the game, we just have to get to a point where we're clinical enough to take them."

  7. Martindale full of praise for stopper Stryjekpublished at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Livingston 2-1 Aberdeen

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Scotland: “I think when we went down to 10 men it was all about defending your final third and the boys did that magnificently.

“A special mention to Max Stryjek. Everybody knows he probably cost us the points last time out here, but today the big man was absolutely incredible.

"He put his body on the line and that’s what we ask him to do every game. He went out with a point to prove today and he’s played a huge part in getting Livingston three points.

“Wee Alan [Forrest] was incredible, I told him at half-time all that was missing was a goal and he got it."

  9. 'Fantastic result for Ross County' - Mackaypublished at 17:38 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

    FT: Dundee 1-2 Ross County

Ross County manager Malky Mackay tells BBC Scotland: "Even before the goal went in I was delighted with how we were beginning to play. I thought if we just kept playing the way we were playing we would open it up.

"Confidence comes from performances and results and I was really delighted with the second-half performance. We looked impressive and we kept Dundee's chances to a minimum. It's a fantastic result for us."

  12. How big a point will that be for St Johnstone?published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2022

It's also turned out to be a decent day for 10-man St Johnstone.

County's win at Dundee, coupled with the Perth side's hard-earned point at home to Dundee United, have taken Callum Davidson's men a point off bottom.

Three games unbeaten for Davidson's side now and two clean sheets in that trio of fixtures.

But that win for County at Dens Park is widening the gap between 10th spot and the bottom two.

    FT: Hibernian 0-1 St Mirren

    Michael Stewart
Former Hibs midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

It's concerning for Hibs. You look at the games since the break, two points out of 15 in the league and four of the games they haven't scored a goal. It's going to be a real test for Maloney

Hibs fans, what's your verdict on manager Shaun Maloney?

That's five league games without victory, but the current Easter Road boss hardly inherited a steady ship.

FT: Raith Rovers 0-0 Hamilton Academical

A 0-0 draw for Raith at home to Hamilton today, but some fans are demanding a change in the hierarchy after the signing of David Goodwillie.

An attendance of just over 1,000 for the second game running.

File this game under 'had it all'.

Ayo Obileye scored early on to give Livi an advantage and Alan Forrest doubled their lead early in the second half.

Christian Ramirez pulled one back for Stephen Glass' side before Cristian Montano was sent off for the hosts with 10 minutes to go after the game's second melee broke out.

Aberdeen had a late flurry of chances, with one cleared off the line, but failed to draw level.
