Motherwell manager Graham Alexander tells BBC Scotland that Dundee United's second goal "killed" them.

"We talked about making sure we were in the second-half right until the end and not to concede a goal early in the second-half by over committing or being too open and, unfortunately, that’s what we were." he says.

"After that, I don’t think we covered ourselves in glory with how we played for the rest of the game.

"There was a wonder-strike between the two teams in the first-half. I thought we had some brilliant chances before that to score and take the lead.

"I was frustrated because we weren’t at least on levels terms at half-time or in front because we had some brilliant chances. We hit the bar in the first 15 seconds and unfortunately at the moment we’re not taking those opportunities, and we have been creating them."

Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm disappointed not to come away with anything in the end.

"First half we didn't get close enough to a good team, second half we put that right. The players really responded."

On Jota's winning goal: "From the side, Liel Abada blocks [David] Bates, that stops him defending. I think he's offside as he does it. Even if he's not he's still blocking a player. We continually get done for blocks even when they don't happen."

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound: "A bit of late drama but I think we were well worth the three points until the last minute equaliser. We've got a free shot from twelve yards and we don't work the goalkeeper, that's probably the most disappointing aspect of the game. If you go 2-0 up with five minutes to go you're probably going to see the game out but when you don't, you're always running the risk of conceding a late goal, especially when they're throwing eveyrthing at us."

"I think it's two points dropped but I spoke to Malky after the game and the last time we were here we stole two points from Ross County so on refelction four points from six I'm probably happy with that."

On missing the chance to move into the top six:

"It's disappointing but I've still got more than one eye on the bottom six to be honest. It's a difficult league this year and it's all about just picking points up on the road."

A tight turnaround for Sportscene tonight... The highlights show is about to start on BBC One Scotland.

Hibernian manager Shaun Maloney tells BBC Scotland over the phone from Ibrox: "It was a very difficult start (conceding an early penalty). It tests the character and mentality of the team but we regrouped and defensively were pretty good, so I have to give credit for my team to stay in the fight for as long as we did.

"There were moments. We have to be more clinical. I think in the last 20 minutes I felt we were still in the game, I thought we grew stronger as it went on, I know Rangers had a 2-0 lead but we had chances to change the game.

"I think there was a penalty decision that went against us in the first half. We all make mistakes and I think the referee has got that one wrong with Ryan Porteous.

"I saw it back and in my opinion it looks a pretty clear penalty which obviously changes the dynamic of the game."

Speaking to BBC Sportsound Ross County manager Malky Mackay says:"It's a great point tonight in the end. Dreadful conditions for both teams and I thought we handled that reasonably well in the first half but second half Livingston really came into it. We were lucky they missed the penalty but there's a never say die attitude."

"When we're not quite at our best, which we weren't in the second half especially, we can be calm enough to know that we can still create chances. So for us to come away with a point tonight means it's one defeat in eight and just keeps us moving in the right direction."

"St Johnstone are a very organised side so you start to worry when they scored the first goal, but the boys did well to fight back," says a delighted St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin.

"I think the referee got the penalty decision right, the St Johnstone boy bowled him over.

"When we are in front we often struggle to kill the game off, we would have loved to get the third goal but it wasn't to be. But I can't fault any performance. We were excellent all the way from the goalkeeper to the front."

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson tells Sportsound: "Very, very disappointed with the outcome and the result of the game.

"We should've been out of sight in the first half. We had three or four great chances we didn't take.

"Two defensive errors. We should not be losing goals at Tynecastle and we lost two sloppy goals.

"Second half we weren't positive enough. It became too static."

Dundee manager James McPake tells Sportsound: “We took our chances. Zak Rudden and Danny Mullen caused their back three all sorts of problems.

"Ian Lawlor coming in was very safe. He has that wee slip atthe start but that doesn’t faze him.

“All it is is three points. This one’s done. It’s a great three points and we’re going to need three points and more victories to get up this table because we want to be back here next year.”

St Mirren goalscorer Alex Grieve insists that the unity of his side is the key to the Buddies' recent success.

"There's a really good buzz about the place, me and the boys are going to games with the confidence that we can win," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"The first thing I noticed when I joined was that the boys are such a good bunch, they all get on with each other, the togetherness of the team helps us on the pitch."

Dundee United manager Tam Courts tells BBC Scotland that Dylan Levitt's opening strike "couldn't have fallen to a more perfect player".

He explains: "Dylan is a real technician and he just caught it sweet as a nut. To see it sail in the top corner, and the fans in raptures at the back was a real sight. It was the perfect start for us and gave us a real foothold in the game.

"I thought we started the game really well, as soon as we hit the post with that first opportunity through Marc McNulty, I thought we rode the wave of that momentum for the first-half.

"The first goal is always important and we got that tonight. We played some really clever and intelligent football in the conditions and obviously, we then got a second goal.

"The only thing that probably frustrated me a bit was just maybe not getting a third or a fourth with some of our opportunities."

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson tells BBC Sportsound: "We have to keep fighting, there's no simple answer. We need to get a settled team and show some fight out there.

"There's a little bit of nervousness about us, but we need to keep doing the right things and see where that takes us."

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to BBC Sportsound after a dramatic victory at Pittodrie.

"First half, we were really good, we controlled the game," he says. "Second half, we were okay, but set-pieces cost us and then the crowd gets involved which gives them (Aberdeen) a bit of confidence. We could have maintained our composure better. I thought we were rushing.

"But this is not an easy place to come and win, so great character and a good reaction to get the third goal.

"As you saw in the second half there are still areas where we can improve and that's what we need to do."

Arbroath needed a last-minute penalty from Michael McKenna to salvage a point at home to Hamilton Accies and the Gayfield celebrations don't stop there since nearest challengers Kilmarnock lost out in the derby to Ayr United at Rugby Park.

Inverness Caley Thistle came from behind three times to share the spoils with Partick Thistle as those two stay in the hunt for promotion.
