  9. Close call at Tynecastle?published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

Heart of Midlothian v Livingston (15:00)

Hearts are sitting pretty in third place in the top flight, but Robbie Neilson's side have only won once in their latest five outings as they prepare for one of two all-Premiership ties today.

While the Edinburgh side look to recover from a shock home defeat by struggling Dundee, David Martindale's Livingston have lifted themselves clear of relegation trouble and head to Tynecastle having won four of their latest seven games, losing only twice.

However, Hearts are unbeaten in six meetings with Livi, who have not won at Tynecastle in 15 visits since May 2002.

Will Hearts continue to lord it over Livi? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  10. 'Poor Pitch will make game more exciting'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

Partick Thistle v Dundee United (15:00)

Dundee United manager Tam Courts tells BBC Scotland: "I'm really looking forward to it. It's a huge incentive for both teams. With the form and performance on Wednesday night, we're looking to build on that now.

"We've spoken about the pitch, I think we have to. But it's not something we'll use as an excuse. It's the same for both teams and it'll probably make the game more exciting.

"There's definitely more romance and magic attached to the Scottish Cup for Dundee United fans and to see them here in their numbers is really inspiring for the boys."

  11. Thistle aim to go one betterpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

Partick Thistle v Dundee United (15:00)

Partick Thistle came close to knocking visitors Dundee United out of the Scottish Cup last season while still in League 1.

This time, Ian McCall's side have home advantage and, although they sit fifth in the Championship, they have plenty of games in hand over the teams above and are unbeaten in six outings.

Tam Courts' United have recovered from a sticky patch and have lost just once in six outings and have risen to fourth spot in the top flight.

Will Thistle go one better this time? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  12. Hearts set on cup glorypublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

Heart of Midlothian v Livingston (15:00)

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson aims to put an end to the club's 10-year wait for Scottish Cup success.

"We were very close to it a couple of years ago - missing out on penalties - so we'd like to go one better this season," he tells BBC Sportsound.

"The most important thing is to concentrate on today and make sure we get through."

Full-back Michael Smith returns from a four-game injury absence and Neilson adds: "We've missed Michael quite a bit.

"He brings real quality to the right-hand side, defends well but is really attack-minded."

  13. 'We aren't here to make the numbers up' - Thomsonpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

St Mirren v Kelty Hearts (15:00)

Kelty Hearts manager Kevin Thomson tells BBC Scotland: “It’s a great achievement from the boys to get so far in the cup, knocking out the previous holders in the last round too.

“You know me though. These days are only good if you make a good account of yourself. St Mirren are in good form, but we’ll have a go.

“I’ve told the boys to stick to the game plan. If it comes unstuck then we'll take responsibility for that, but I’d like my team to play the way we want to play and to understand the instructions of what we want to do.

“We might be at our very, very must and it might not be enough. We need to understand that. We aren’t here to make the numbers up, we aren’t here for a day out."

  14. Martindale out to rectify Livi's cup recordpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Hearts v Livingston (15:00)

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound: "In my years at the club, the Scottish Cup is a competition we haven't done well in. It's a record we want to rectify.

"Bruce Anderson was left out against Ross County in midweek with one eye on today.

"He's been in great form and this is the first opportunity we've had to use him alongside Joel Nouble in attack.

"Joel probably did a bit better than I expected out on loan at Arbroath. He's versatile, a good age and will only get better."

  15. Can Kelty do Saints double?published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

St Mirren v Kelty Hearts (15:00)

Kelty Hearts' hopes of following up their famous fourth-round win over cup holders St Johnstone have been dampened a bit by being drawn away to another Premiership side in the shape of in-form St Mirren.

Kevin Thomson's side suffered a hangover after that victory as they suffered a rare League 2 defeat away to Elgin City, but that is their only loss in six outings.

St Mirren are unbeaten in six, winning five of them, and Jim Goodwin's side will be strong favourites against the runaway fourth-tier leaders.

Will the Buddies avoid a shock loss? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

  16. Can Dons get over away-day blues?published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (15:00)

Away-day blues are haunting Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass, with just two wins on the road all season and a tally of nine points from 39.

Add in the League Cup loss on their travels to Championship side Raith Rovers and it's easy to understand why there was a collective groan across the north-east when Aberdeen were drawn to visit Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.

Motherwell too haven't had the best of luck on the road this season and would have breathed a sigh of relief that this game can't go to a replay, although one of their few away wins this season was at Pittodrie.

Will Well progress? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no!

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass tells BBC Sportsound: "The only thing that matters is getting into the next round. We're only focused on today and we know it will be a tough game.

"We were brilliant, second half, against Celtic and it's important that continues.

"They kind of sat in against us in the earlier games this season, but they have changed a bit since then and are more aggressive with their pressure.

"If they come and press us, we need to be ready to play round it or over it. Whatever it takes, we just need to make sure we're in the hat."

  18. Top four tusslepublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Scottish League 1 & League 2

The top four meet one another on a big day in the third tier.

Leaders Cove Rangers are unbeaten in 14 league games as they host fourth-top Queen's Park, who are themselves without a loss in five.

Airdrieonians are seven points behind the Aberdeen side after four games without a win, but they will be looking to build on successive draws away to Queen's Park and Cove as they host third-top Montrose, who are one point behind and have lost just once in nine outings.

In the one League 2 game, both teams are looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat., but Elgin City are unbeaten in six at home and can leapfrog visitors Stranraer, who have won once in eight, into sixth place with victory.

  19. Motherwell 'mix and match' to keep team freshpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Motherwell v Aberdeen (15:00)

Motherwell manager Graham Alexander tells BBC Sportsound: "We know we're in a difficult moment, but my players have done really well this season.

"I think it's two good teams who are not in the best vein of form results-wise and both are looking to win the game.

"This is the end of a really busy period. It's been tough for the squad, so I need to mix and match to keep the energy levels high."

Kilmarnock and Dunfermline Athletic were touted as potential title winners at the start of the season, but they meet at Rugby Park facing quite different crisis.

Derek McInnes' home side sit second top, but two straight defeats leaves them five adrift of surprise leaders Arbroath.

In contrast, John Hughes' Pars are unbeaten in four games but still sit second from bottom. They will be dreaming of a repeat of their last two visits to Rugby Park, which ended in 3-0 wins.

Greenock Morton, a point above Dunfermline, are themselves unbeaten in five league games as they host a Queen of the South side who surely can't afford a defeat having dropped five points behind their hosts after five outings without a win.
