FT: Rangers 2-2 Borussia Dortmund (6-4)

We'll give the final word this evening to a delighted Rangers manager Giovanni von Bronckhorst.

"It is a big moment for the club, we can make a lot of people proud as it was a difficult game again," he tells BT Sport.

"We made a good start, but after we conceded two goals we had to change the system at half time. We talk a lot about the system in training. I think the system worked really well after half time.

"We were very unfortunate in some moments where we could have cleared the ball. We had to change something to be more defensively solid.

"Morelos was much more stronger in the second half and we had many more dangerous moments.

"We trained with three different plans for today. We needed to have scenarios in place to be executed and I'm glad we did.

"Tavernier's numbers are definitely better than mine at left back! You wat your full-backs to push up at the right time and he did that very well.

"We had a great performance, we played them twice and got four points, its a great performance. The last 16 is only top teams, we wait for them and we look forward to the draw."

  2. 'Brilliant game to play in' - Bellinghampublished at 22:31 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2022

FT: Rangers 2-2 Borussia Dortmund (6-4)

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham tells BT Sport: "It was brilliant to play in. A good team, a good test.

"We didn't have the bite we had in the first half. It's just one of those nights, we didn't take all our chances and they took theirs, fair play to them.

"We've let the fans, the staff and ourselves down. If we look at ourselves in the mirror, we'll realise we could've done more."

  3. 'Europe beyond Celtic this season'published at 22:29 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2022

    FT: Bodo/Glimt 2-0 Celtic (5-1)

Let's look back at what Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou had to say after that loss to Bodo/Glimt.

"The levels of performance wasn't at the level we needed it to be," he told BT Sport.

"The least effective performances in Europe were in these last two games, that's including the 4-0 defeat to Leverkusen.

"I expect to go further in every competition we play, that's the nature of this football club. Europe was beyond us in terms of levels we needed to get to. It's my responsibility to make sure we improve and next year ensure that we perform better.

"I think the supporters understand where we're at and what we need to do."

  5. 'Rangers had to dig deep'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2022

FT: Rangers 2-2 Borussia Dortmund (6-4)

Rangers winger Ryan Kent tormented the Dortmund defence with his dribbling and won the opening penalty. It also looked like he was robbed of a goal by a strange VAR review from the referee.

"It was an incredible game, big shout out to the fans," he tells BT Sport. "There was a lot of difficult moments but the boys dug deep and we came away with the result.

"There’s no denying that Dortmund are a tidy team with a lot of technicians causing problems on the pitch, we couldn’t let them exploit any of our spaces.

"They had to chase the game and they needed goals so we knew that they would come at us, which would leave spaces that we could exploit."

  6. 'We really stepped it up in the second half'published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2022

FT: Rangers 2-2 Borussia Dortmund (6-4)

Rangers captain James Tavernier says a tactical tweak at half time made the difference.

"We really stepped up in the second half after we changed tactically, it allowed us to progress," he tells BT Sport.

"The manager told us that we have to follow the runners and tighten it up a bit, that’s what we do in our back five system and it works for us.

"We are really impressive, the result was pleasing. I always trying to get to back post, and I got the goal today.

"I am delighted to get through, we have to stick together and make it through the weekend, we just have to do it in the league now.

"This game shows the character that we have the in the squad, we have a great squad that can push through.

"It hast sunk in yet. I’m happy to help the club get though the next round."
