  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Off we go in all three games. Can Burnley close the gap on Everton? Will West Ham move level on points with Arsenal? Is the first goal coming from the King Power?

  3. Jansson absence opens door for Zankapublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

Illness has ruled Pontus Jansson out today, and it’s going to be odd for Brentford to be without him.

He’s played more minutes than any other outfield player in the Premier League this season. But it opens the door for Zanka, who hasn’t been involved since November because of injury.

    Norwich v Burnley (14:00 BST)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC 5 Live

The thing about Burnley is, and we can talk about Sean Dyche because he's been there for so long, but it is down to the recruitment. There are some managers where people understand what he wants because he's brought them in; players know what it means to play for Burnley in the Premier League. It is not a case of someone is going to come in and they are going to give Burnley 70% possession.

There is an identity to the football club and people come in to match it. For moments like this when backs are against the wall, for them it is like 'so what?' This is what they do because their approach is who they are.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "Against Everton we looked like an outfit that scores goals and we have to do that again.

"I have made it clear to the players it's about us. We are a pretty wise group. It's about focusing on what we do. As the number of games narrow down, we have to get wins.

"We did that against Everton and we have to take that into today. Norwich are still in there and are still fighting. They will be up for it but we have been showing good signs over the last 12 games."

Burnley keeper Nick Pope, speaking to Sky Sports: "The Everton win is something that's been coming for a while. We showed great character to come from behind.

"There is still a long way to go in the season. We have been in this position before. We will look to take it each game at a time and not look too far ahead and just concentrate on ourselves.

"It's important not to get on an emotional roller coaster."

Norwich boss Dean Smith, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have only got eight games left and we don't want to get cast adrift at the bottom.

"We need to give our fans something to cheer about. The belief is still there but we need to turn performances into wins.

"You have to keep belief. Confidence is a big thing in football. Sometimes that can come from a goal off someone's backside.

"Burnley will be really competitive. We will have to defend well on set pieces."

Norwich keeper Tim Krul, speaking to Sky Sports: "We got an away draw at Brighton last week which is not a bad result but in the situation we are in we need wins.

"We have had eight days to really knuckle down hard. The spirit is there - we just need to do it on the pitch.

"We have done a lot of talking. We said we need to be harder to beat and stay in games longer. We did that last week."

The Hors d’oeuvre at Carrow Road before the banquet.

This is a massive game for both clubs. A Burnley victory and they’re back to within a point of Everton and safety. Norwich simply have to win if they have any chance of staying up.

  10. At the bottom end...published at 13:47 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Norwich v Burnley (14:00 BST)

    Burnley

All the talk - understandably - has been about the meeting at the top of the table but there is a significant clash at the bottom end too.

You feel if Norwich lose today it will be curtains for their Premier League stay and Dean Smith's men have picked up just two points in eight Premier League matches, the fewest of any team in that time.

Burnley, meanwhile, will be buoyed by that late win against Everton in midweek though it was just their fourth victory in 29 games this campaign.

The Premier League record for fewest victories in a single campaign by a team that avoided relegation is six by West Bromwich Albion in 2004-05.

    Can they?

  11. Defensive issuespublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Leicester v Crystal Palace (14:00 BST)

It's 10th v ninth at the King Power Stadium and this one could be a cracker.

What a job Patrick Vieira is doing in his first season at Crystal Palace, on a run of seven games without defeat and into the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The football has been thoroughly enjoyable too and they face a Leicester side that have lost just one of their past five top-flight games.

    But they have issues...

  12. 'Brentford is a test for West Ham'published at 13:44 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on BBC 5 Live

West Ham are certainly in the top four race; performance wise they;'ve not been hitting the heights of earlier in the season, but that is a skill in itself to still be getting results. It is a shame for them because Spurs are coming like a train; Arsenal have succumbed to that pressure as well. But it is good to see teams going for the top four; the race is on but games like this against Brentford are a test.

They played a tough, emotional game in midweek [against Lyon], but you've got to keep going again. If you want to be successful, this is the situation.

  13. 'There is still work to do'published at 13:41 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I covered Brentford's win at Chelsea and they were sensational. Christian Eriksen is getting fitter and stronger. They have a way of playing; Eriksen has given them a little bit of craft and guile. I think they will be fine, but that third relegation spot is up for grabs.

Norwich have gone, Watford have gone, but if Burnley win today, Brentford could get dragged in. Leeds have been doing well under Jesse Marsch, but Burnley have a game in hand on them, one more than they do on Brentford. There is still work to do; I think they'll get enough points and think they'll get something against West Ham.

Brentford v West Ham (14:00 BST)

Best mention Sunday's other fixtures before we get the old "you know it's not all about City and Liverpool" comments.

Brentford host West Ham this afternoon, having won three of their last four games, while David Moyes' side have been rather inconsistent.

But is has been a dream return to action for Christian Eriksen, following his cardiac arrest last summer.

  15. Lawro's predictionpublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Man City v Liverpool (16:30 BST

    Lawro

This is the big one. Both teams got good results in the Champions League in midweek, but it was much tougher for City against Atletico Madrid than it was for Liverpool versus Benfica.

I am expecting a good game because you don't get anything else with two teams as talented as these, and with the way they both play.

At different times, one team or the other will be on top - it will just come down to who can take their chances when they come. It will be close, and there will be a few goals.

I don't see it as a title decider because there are still seven games to go after this. Whoever wins, the pressure is still on, but I am going for a draw anyway.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-2

We asked you to pick your combined XI and you went with three Manchester City players and eight from Liverpool.

  19. 'Fourteen-point lead was fake'published at 13:23 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

Man City v Liverpool (16:30 BST)

Since the start of the 2018-19 season, combining the four campaigns, City and Liverpool are separated by just a single point - the same margin that keeps them apart in the table after 30 games this season.

City lead with 338 points from 144 games, while Liverpool have 337. If the Reds edge ahead in this regard on Sunday, it could be decisive in the title race.

It was a very different picture three months ago.

When Kevin de Bruyne's goal earned City a 1-0 win over Chelsea - then their nearest rivals - on 15 January the title looked done and dusted.

It lifted them 13 points ahead of Chelsea while Liverpool, who had two games in hand, trailed by 14.

But since blowing a 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge, the Reds have clawed their way back into title contention by embarking on a 10-match winning run.

Speaking about his side's one-time 14-point advantage over the Reds, Guardiola said it was a "fake" lead.
