It's all Nottingham Forest in these opening stages, with the hosts knowing that victory today will draw the battle for automatic promotion with Bournemouth on until midweek when they face the Cherries.

Sam Surridge is played through on goal by Steve Cook but his follow-up effort is dealt with by Swans keeper Andrew Fisher.

This is a fabulous start from Nottingham Forest, who find another chance of the opener against Swansea.

Djed Spence plays through James Garner who tries his luck with a first-time effort, but Cyrus Christie denies him.

But for points deductions at Derby County and Reading, this would have been a very big game.

The Blues would have been in the bottom three, with the Bluebirds just three points better off.

Yet there are no relegation concerns for either club, who are both looking for a late-season victory after poor runs of form.

It is Birmingham who have made the slightly brighter start, with Juninho Bacuna seeing an early effort on goal saved.

    Millwall 0-0 Peterborough

Millwall have the first chance of this game as they look to pressure already-relegated Peterborough.

Oli Burke tries to play Benik Afobe through towards goal but Posh goalkeeper David Cornell is on hand to collect the ball.

Much like fellow play-off chasers Middlesbrough and Blackburn, this is a must-win game for Millwall if they are to have any chance of getting into the top six.

    Right then.

We're just getting under way in today's 15:00 BST kick-offs.

Let's hope for plenty of action across the Championship and League Two.

  11. League Two fixturespublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

All games kick off at 15:00 BST

It's all about the battle for the remaining promotion spot and play-off places in League Two.

Northampton can take a big step towards promotion with victory over Exeter, who now have leaders Forest Green and the title in their sights after going up themselves in midweek.

However, the Cobblers cannot claim a place in League One for next season today as both fourth-placed Port Vale and Mansfield, in fifth, do not play until Monday.

Bristol Rovers and Sutton United could both ensure play-off places with wins if Swindon also slip up at home to Barrow.

    Here's the full fixture list:

    • Carlisle United v Stevenage
    • Colchester United v Walsall
    • Crawley Town v Leyton Orient
    • Forest Green Rovers v Harrogate Town
    • Northampton Town v Exeter City
    • Rochdale v Bristol Rovers
    • Scunthorpe United v Hartlepool United
    • Sutton United v Bradford City
    • Swindon Town v Barrow
    • Tranmere Rovers v Oldham Athletic
  12. Can Forest continue battle for second?published at 14:56 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

Nottingham Forest v Swansea City (15:00 BST)

Automatic promotion is still very much on the cards for Nottingham Forest, who pulled off a sensational win against likely champions-elect Fulham in midweek.

That win was tempered only slightly by Bournemouth's comeback to draw 3-3 against Swansea, who they take on at the City Ground today.

Victory for Forest today would certainly put the pressure on the second-placed Cherries.

And who do Forest face next after today's game? Bournemouth, on Tuesday evening.

    Ooh ah.

  13. A huge game at Ewood Parkpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Blackburn v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Tony MowbrayImage source, PA Media

A match that's could have huge ramifications for both clubs.

Blackburn are three points outside the top six with two games to play amid a crowded battle for the Championship play-off places.

Bournemouth, who were forced to mount an incredible comeback from three goals down to draw at Swansea in midweek, know that a win against Rovers could win them promotion back to the Premier League depending on results elsewhere.

And that's before we take into account that it could be Tony Mowbray's final home game in charge of Blackburn.

  16. Wigan return to Championship with League One titlepublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Wigan promoted

To understand what it means to win promotion back to the Championship, it is important to know what Wigan Athletic have been through in less than two years.

When the coronavirus pandemic hit, few considered them at risk of imminent financial instability. In July 2020, however, they entered administration when their then-Hong Kong owners conceded they could not support them financially, throwing an already chaotic season into further disarray.

With a 12-point deduction looming, the Latics had six games left to build a cushion on the relegation places to avoid the drop to League One.

Under former boss Paul Cook they put up quite the fight, including beating Hull City 8-0 to equal the biggest victory in Championship history, losing just once in their final 15 games, but their spirited efforts were not enough.

A failed appeal against the points deduction followed, as did a fan-led crowdfunding campaign to save the club - leading to more than £600,000 being raised. Cook - and many of the club's squad - left the Latics just before they tentatively began the 2020-21 League One season.

In March 2021, Bahraini businessman Abdulrahman Al-Jasmi bought the club after an ill-fated deal with a Spanish consortium collapsed, ending nearly a year of financial uncertainty, and the club later avoided relegation to League Two by just a point.

This season, under League One manager of the season Leam Richardson's stewardship, the club have reached the FA Cup fourth round - as well as the semi-final of the Papa Johns Trophy - as the turnaround began.

  17. Merry Millers bounce back againpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    Rotherham promoted

Rotherham have been promoted back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

The Millers have now been promoted to or relegated from the second tier in each of the past six seasons, becoming the second club to bounce between two divisions for six consecutive seasons since Wimbledon did so between the third and fourth tiers between 1978 and 1984.

Paul Warne's side suffered heartbreak as they went down on the final day of the 2020-21 campaign despite beating Cardiff City.

They made an indifferent start to the season with just three wins from their first seven league matches but then embarked on a terrific spell that saw them go unbeaten in all competitions between 11 September and 26 December.

A run of one league win in seven matches from the start of March, that included a first home defeat since September, saw them drop down to third behind Wigan and MK Dons.

However, three wins from their final five matches proved to be enough to get them over the line.

Promotion ultimately caps off a fine season for the South Yorkshire side, who claimed silverware in April, amid their poor league form, when they won the Football League Trophy at Wembley against League Two side Sutton.

This is Warne's third promotion in his five and a half years in charge of the club and prior to Saturday's game at Gillingham he acknowledged that going up this season would top the previous two.

"I want the players to have that moment in time that will keep them connected forever. If we can go up automatically it will be the greatest achievement I have ever had, given the quality in this league," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Attention will now turn to seeing if they can put together a squad capable of staying in the Championship, having failed to do so in each of their last three attempts.

  20. AFC Wimbledon experience first relegationpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 30 April 2022

    AFC Wimbledon relegated

It is the first time that Wimbledon have been relegated since they were formed by fans of Wimbledon FC in 2002.

They have struggled to get out of the bottom six all season and also found goals hard to come by, having won just six of their 46 league games.

Former Wales international Mark Bowen was only appointed manager on 30 March, after the club parted company with Mark Robinson.

He has been unable to steer them to a win in his seven games in charge, including a 3-1 defeat by already-relegated Crewe earlier in April.

But a winless league run stretching back to early December has ultimately cost the Dons their League One status.

Having been formed from the aftermath of Wimbledon's move to Milton Keynes in 2003, AFC Wimbledon won six promotions from the ninth-tier Combined Counties League up to League One in the space of just 14 years.

The club also finally relocated to their former home in Merton in November 2020, as their redeveloped Plough Lane ground was completed.

But after finishing 19th and 20th twice in the past three seasons, surviving by a combined seven points in that time, staying up has proved beyond them this season.
