  1. goal

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

It took a crisis to wake Barca up!

Magnificent wing play by Ousmane Dembele as he clips a delivery into the path of Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang. He nods home. Wonderful service, clinical header, level boards.

I told you this was a drab game.

  3. PENALTY SAVEDpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

    Levante 1-0 Barcelona...

Marc-Andre ter Stegen stands tall and gets down pronto to deny a blast from Roger Marti.

Why oh why did Morales not take it when he's scored one just moments ago. That logic is lost on me!

  4. PENALTY TO LEVANTEpublished at 55 mins

    Levante 1-0 Barcelona

    Another one!

    What is happening here?

This time a header in the box hits the hand of Eric Garcia. He knows he's done for. No question.

  5. goal

    Morales

Right-footed, Morales sends Marc-Andre ter Stegen the wrong way.

The great escape from the drop is on.

You'd have to say they deserve it in this game so far.... just.

  6. PENALTY TO LEVANTEpublished at 50 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

This will be checked. It looks a little soft.

Levante's left-sided defender Son plays a one-two and as he bursts into the area to collect the ball back to him Alves blocks him. It's an off-the-ball offence.

The VAR check is done, penalty stands. That looks a little light to me but Levante have their chance.

  7. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

This is more like it. Ferran Torres gets a run on his defender and powers a header at goal, forcing Dani Cardenas into a superb save.

    That's more like it lads...

  8. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Interestingly in that first half Levante had 15 touches in the Barca box while the away side only had eight at the other end.

It kind of points to Levante being a bit more purposeful than their Catalan visitors.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 10 April 2022

The ball is rolling. Barca will expect more...

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Half-time. Barca in charge of possession but four shots apiece.

    Not a thriller.

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Frenkie de Jong lifts one harmlessly over the bar as we enter injury time.

Levante will be happier I'd say but they did have that glorious opening after the superb Morales run.

  13. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Levante 0-0 Mallorca

Ferran Torres cuts in from the left flank and has a dig. Straight down the pipe, easily held.

  14. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Get Newcastle flop Luuk de Jong on and just load it into the mixer.

Go on Xavi, I dare you.

  15. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

I'll say this, if this Barca side is the most in-form team in Europe then Europe needs to take a look in the mirror.

Drab from Xavi's boys so far. Second-gear football.

Anyone else want the sport to continue overnight and the weekend to be extended?

We've had it all have we not? The Masters, the Grand National, Premier League football, a Grand Prix, some La Liga, anything else?

This has to be typically the best sporting weekend each year, other than Boxing Day of course. Nothing beats Boxing Day, the Christmas meat sweats and a dodgy jumper.

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Jose Luis Morales just went down under no challenge. He's holding his hip and looks like he's tweaked something.

Moments ago he cut Barca to ribbons, now he's on the edge of being able to carry on.

  18. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Ronald Araujo is getting a lot of hype at the back for Barcelona. I saw a headline the other day saying they wanted to put a billion Euro release clause in his next deal.

He slides in at the near post crucially to clean man, ball and everything else just as Levante's Roger Marti looked set to apply a finish.

  19. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Looking at the replays, Morales could have gone down.

Magic play that. Great save, great skill, great hustle to clear off the line. I love it.

    Levante 0-0 Barcelona

Oh my word. What a run we've just seen. Jose Luis Morales just slalomed through the Barcelona defence.

This is Barnes against Brazil, this is Strictly Come Dancing, this is every drop of the shoulder and dummy you can imagine, ending in him being six yards out, where he flicks at goal and Marc-Andre ter Stegen denies him, allowing Eric Garcia to boot off the line.

What superb play by everyone involved.
