    Wales captain Gareth Bale said:

“It’s an amazing feeling to get off the mark personally, but we would much rather have had the three points.

“It was a great team performance, especially in the second half when we showed that real grit and determination to get back into the game.

“We are proud of that. We have things to build on and things to work on.

“We made a few tactical changes [at half-time]. It was nothing that DJ [Dan James] did wrong, it was just that we needed different personnel and a slightly different way of playing.

“Fantastic decision from the manager yet again, it shows how class he is, and credit to the boys for digging deep and showing our character.

    FT: USA 1-1 Wales

Wales boss Robert Page told ITV:

"To go a goal behind against a good team like the USA, we showed character, credit to the lads for coming back and getting a point.

“It was nothing against Dan James, but the game suited Kieffer to get us up the pitch.

“We played over the top into Kieffer, it was a tactical decision.

“When we got the penalty we knew who was taking it, one million percent.

“He’s never let us down has he? It’s all about Bale and rightly so.

“Before Friday when we play Iran the medical team will have work to do. We have players not playing week in, week out, they are cramping up.

“It was 64 years but worth the wait. To see the Red Wall celebrating was incredible.”

The Wales players have just been over to applaud their fans, who were behind Matt Turner's goal for the second half and definitely enjoyed it a lot more than the first 45 minutes. They showed their appreciation to the team just now too.

I think tactically in the first half Wales were just outdone, America came in and just really had their number, had loads of energy, super intense and Wales were just a little shellshocked I think initially.

Changes were made and they were able to get back in to the game, get the goal from the penalty and I don't think America were in the game in the second half. I think it was really a game of two halves.

    That's it, full-time.

Wales were down and out at half-time, but they improved greatly and that man Gareth Bale rescued a point.

Wales' World Cup dream is very much alive and kicking.

Stick with us for all the reaction.

This is game one of three that we have to play, we need these boys to keep coming back and back and back, we can't run them so that they can't play again.
