    You got your wish!

BBC Sport online users were in no doubt Kieffer Moore should start today's World Cup game against Iran.

The Bournemouth striker transformed Wales as a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw against USA - and all but a handful of voters pick him in their XI for game two.

More than 93% include Moore in their selection, marginally the most popular choice ahead of Ben Davies (93.04%) and Gareth Bale (92.97%).

  7. Newlyweds watch Wales on honeymoonpublished at 08:34 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

Football mad newlyweds Beca and Richard Thomas have flown to the Middle East to spend their honeymoon at the World Cup.

The couple tied the knot about two weeks ago during half term and ever since Wales qualified, they knew there was only one destination option.

Mrs Thomas said she and her other half agreed the plan was "perfect".

They are staying in Dubai but travelling to Qatar so they can watch the games with the rest of the Red Wall.

"We married a fortnight ago during half-term and we have photos of us wearing bucket hats on our special day," Mrs Thomas said.

  9. Wales fans are 'quietly confident'published at 08:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

For many Wales fans, Monday was among the best days of their lives - and they are ready to do it all over again.

There will be up to 6,000 fans in the stadium, double the pre-tournament estimates, for Wales' World Cup game against Iran at 10:00 GMT.

The raw emotion of Monday's draw against the USA has turned to cautious optimism among fans.

However, for many Iranians in Wales the game will be played against a backdrop of unrest in their home nation.

With a much earlier kick-off, 13:00 local time, fingernails will have less time to be bitten than they did for the opening draw against the USA.

Schoolchildren in Wales are expected to be able to watch the match after the Welsh government told schools they could cancel lessons to show the game.

In Doha, it is among the bustling Souq Waqif market stalls that Wales fans are in a relaxed mood among supporters bringing their different colours and songs from around the world.

  10. Rainbow-coloured items 'allowed' at Qatar venuespublished at 08:27 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) says Fifa has told World Cup venues to let rainbow-coloured hats and flags into stadiums for the remainder of the Qatar tournament.

The FAW says Fifa, football's world governing body, has confirmed rainbow-coloured items will be allowed at Wales' game against Iran on Friday.

The Welsh governing body also says all 2022 World Cup venues have been told to follow "agreed rules and regulations".

BBC Sport has asked Fifa for comment.

Former Wales captain Laura McAllister said she felt intimidated having been told to remove her bucket hat when entering the stadium to watch Wales' 1-1 draw with the United States on Monday.

McAllister was wearing a hat representing the Rainbow Wall, the supporters' group for Welsh fans who are members of the LGBTQ+ community,

The FAW said it was "extremely disappointed" by reports that supporters and some members of its staff had been asked to remove and discard Rainbow Wall bucket hats before entry to the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

The FAW said it contacted Fifa following the incidents at the USA game.

In a statement released on social media yesterday the Welsh association said: "In response to the FAW, Fifa has confirmed that fans with Rainbow Wall bucket hats and rainbow flags will be allowed entry to the stadium for Cymru's match against Iran on Friday.

"All World Cup venues have been contacted and instructed to follow the agreed rules and regulations."

Qatar has been criticised for its stance on same-sex relationships, human rights record and treatment of migrant workers.

  16. A different Iran and a 'football party show'published at 08:14 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

Wales boss Robert Page thinks his side will face an Iran team that are improved from their chastening 6-2 defeat to England.

"Iran are going to want a reaction from a disappointing defeat," said Page.

"I think they'd have looked at the fixtures and England was a free game for them. I think that's why the manager changed the shape, he changed it for that game.

"I think we won't be too surprised by the formation he picks. Both teams need to win.”

As Page suggests, this is also an important match for Iran, who will almost certainly be heading for group-stage elimination if they suffer a second defeat from two.

Carlos Quieroz's side had kept clean sheets in six of their previous nine matches before they were crushed by a rampant England side on Monday.

"For us, the World Cup starts today. We have two games and six points to play for," said Queiroz, a former Real Madrid manager and ex-assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

"Welcome to the big show for Wales after 64 years. It is incredible to see the Red Wall in the stadium.

"Wales play with character. It's like a party. A football party show."

  17. Allen return is a big boost for Walespublished at 08:11 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

Wales midfielder Joe Allen has resumed full training after over two months out with a hamstring problem.

Wales boss Robert Page says the instrumental Swansea City man is "fit and raring to go".

    So will Allen start today?

"We've got a decision to make on that - what's best for the team," Page added, unhelpfully, for prediction purposes.

"The medical team have been exceptional and they're the reason he's now fit.

"We could have pushed him for USA, but due to the confidence we have to get out of the group I want him for the long-term."

Allen's ability to play some part against Iran is a major boost for Wales.

Wales captain Gareth Bale said: "Joe is a massive player for us and doesn't get credit he deserved - he's a vital cog in the way we play.

"To have him available is a massive boost for us with two games remaining so hopefully he can come on or start and he'll do what Joe Allen does best and cover every blade of grass.

"I think he's shown time and again how important he is and we hope he has a few miles left to go."

  18. A big miss for Iranpublished at 08:08 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

He can throw the ball about a mile and a half and he's a very important player for Iran, but goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand will miss the match today after getting concussed and breaking his nose against England.

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz confirmed the news at his pre-match press conference.

"There is medical protocol we need to respect and there is no way to move around the protocol, so he will not play," Queiroz said.

  20. Another big record for Gareth Balepublished at 08:03 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2022

    Wales v Iran (10:00 GMT)

We don't know the team news yet, but barring a last minute disaster, I think it is entirely fair to suggest Gareth Bale will be in Wales' starting XI today.

It is also probable, that Chris Gunter will not.

That means that Wales' captain will surpass his close friend and become Wales' most-capped male player.

Bale, 33, is already Wales' all-time leading scorer in men's football and he extended his record to 41 goals with a late penalty against the USA on Monday.

That match at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, also the venue for today's fixture, was Wales' first in a World Cup since 1958.

"It's an amazing achievement, it's an honour to represent my country so many times," said Bale, who has 109 caps.

"But it's more important that we try and get the victory. Hopefully we can and it'll make it even more special.

"It will be a difficult game versus Iran - they are a very good team. They are here for a reason but of course we believe we can beat them."
