  1. Rashford in the mix

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

    Golden Boot
  2. 'Rashford has been impressive since he's returned'

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

Gareth Southgate speaking on BBC One: "I thought in the first half we controlled the game but didn't create enough chances. We wanted more thrust and threat, to play forward quicker. Once we got the two goals, we knew their spirit was gone, it has been a tough tournament for them."

On Rashford: "It's great for him, he has trained really well. He has been impressive since he came back to us, he could have had a hat-trick. That free kick is what he is capable, it's an incredible strike.

"In moments I thought both of them [Rashford and Foden] were quiet in the first half, so we switched wings. They responded well, for both to get goals was great."

    Gareth Southgate
  3. 'This is what I play football for'

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

Marcus Rashford speaking on BBC One: "It's obviously a great feeling. We were disappointed as a team after the last game, we could have played a lot better. The only way to bounce back is to play better in your next game.

"Moments like this, this is what I play football for. I am really happy today to be going into the next round of the tournament, because I have massive ambition for this team and I think we can go a lot further."

On his free kick goal: "I fancied one in the first half, but the one in the second was in a better position. Then it's being calm and executing what you do in training."

  4. Rashford steps up

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

Marcus Rashford scored his first direct free-kick goal for England, and the first at the 2022 World Cup. Indeed, the last two direct free-kick goals at the tournament have been netted by England players, following Kieran Trippier's strike in the 2018 semi-final against Croatia.

Rashford's second goal was England's 100th scored at the World Cup, while it made him just the second Manchester United player to score 3+ goals for the Three Lions at a major tournament after Bobby Charlton (1966 World Cup).

  5. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

The England players are now hanging out with their families in the stands of the ground. Feet up, lots of smiles. They don't look like a bunch of players who have just cruised into the World Cup last 16, which I guess is a part of why they're successful.

It's not always been the case, but this is a very likable England squad. Good players, good people.

  6. 'I have massive ambitions for this team' - Rashford

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

    Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford, who scored two goals tonight, speaking to BBC One: "It's a great feeling.

"We were a little bit disappointed after the USA result. Thought we could've played a lot better. and it was important to have a good performance the next game. We defended brilliantly in the first half and it was just about killing the game off early and taking the chances in the game

"I fancied [a free-kick] in the first half but it was a better position for the second. I just tried to be calm and execute what you've done in training.

"Half time the manager said we've played well but we need more shots on goal - I think we only had two or three. We wanted to work the keeper more and get into dangerous positions, which I thought we were doing in the first half and in the second half we made them count.

"Moments like this, this is what I play football for. The biggest moments, the best moments. I'm happy we are going through to the next round of the tournament because I have massive ambitions for this team and I think we can play even better than we did today."

  7. 'Wales have to learn the lessons'

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

    Ashley Williams

Former Wales captain on BBC One

Where Wales got it wrong was the first two games. We were a little bit too hesitant. The target now has to be qualifying for consecutive tournaments and taking the lessons that need to be learned from this World Cup.

  8. Final Group B table

All over in the other game in this group - Iran 0-1 USA.

The Americans progress in second place and face the Dutch on Saturday.

For England, it is a Sunday evening date with Senegal.

  9. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

What will be interesting for England is when they come up against teams who can keep the ball.

That has been a problem for them in the past.

  10. USA go through!

    FT: Iran 0-1 USA

It is all over in the other game in Group B.

The USA had to survive a late penalty shout, but they did so and go through in second place.

They'll play the Netherlands in the last 16.

  11. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

If you're Welsh, I'll forgive you if you want to ignore these highlights.

If you're English, fill your boots...

  12. Post update

    FT: Wales 0-3 England

Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford stride around the ground, arms on each others' shoulders, all smiles, soaking up the atmosphere. They were both superb tonight.

  13. Post update

    Wales 0-3 England

Now the match is done and dusted, thanks to the thousands of you who have messaged BBC Sport to say former Wales defender Danny Gabbidon, who has been commentating on BBC One tonight, sounds exactly like Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge.

Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.

    Tom Kerridge
  14. Post update

    Gary Lineker

    Ex-England striker on BBC One

England will face Senegal on Sunday live on... ITV.

    Oh well.

  16. FULL-TIME

    Wales 0-3 England

England top the group thanks to a superb second-half display in which Mancunian pair Rashford and Foden did the damage.

Senegal await in the last 16.

Wales' first World Cup in 64 years ends in disappointing fashion.

  17. Post update

    Wales 0-3 England

    Jess Fishlock

Wales' most-capped footballer on BBC Radio Wales

I feel disappointed with this campaign, with all the games for different reasons.

You talk about where does this group of players go now. I feel it's about more than Bale and Ramsey.

It's about who we are, how we want to play, where we want to go. Rob Page has to figure out who we are again in those three months before we play again.

  18. Post update

    Wales 0-3 England

Like a hot knife through butter. Jack Grealish and Phil Foden combine to fashion a shot for the latter in the box but it is blocked.

    That will be that.

  19. Post update

    Wales 0-3 England

There is going to be nine added minutes in the other game in this group!

Perfect for a bit of nerves and tension.

    Follow it here.

  20. Post update

    Wales 0-3 England

    Nathan Blake

Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

It's a half-volley five yards out. John Stones will feel he should have scored.
