    France 1-0 Denmark

We're discussing Olivier Giroud trying to beat Thierry Henry's record of 51 France goals.

But Kylian Mbappe is already on 30, at the age of 23. Only seven players have ever scored more for France.

Surely he's going to break whatever number Giroud finishes on.

What a goal - no surprise that it comes from the superstar Kylian Mbappe. He gets the ball in his own half and drives forward. He has the support from Theo Hernandez and he has a look around to say where are you? And puts it in Mbappe's path.

What a goal - it was perfection.

Little pass from Mbappe and he tucks it away past Kasper Schmeichel.

Christian Eriksen is the only Denmark player on the pitch with an xG in the absence of Cornelius – a hefty 0.02.

He's had a few flickers of hope in the areas where you might expect him to take aim and is the only player out there to have had a shot for his side. Here's his touchmap.

There will be no record goal for Olivier Giroud tonight. He's replaced immediately after the goal with Marcus Thuram, son of 1998 winner Lillian, coming on.

    Kylian Mbappe

    It's been coming!!!

Kylian Mbappe gets the sixth World Cup goal of his career and his 30th international strike.

He finds Theo Hernandez on the overlap and the full-back pulls it straight back for Mbappe, who pokes the ball in form eight yards, via a slight deflection.

They have to take one of these surely? Antoine Griezmann comes to life as he chests a long ball down on the edge of the box, taking him past the final defender - but then lashes his shot over.

Superb play from Kylian Mbappe. Right inside his own half, the touch to turn the defender and then the touch to get away. He's hoping it might just open up for him to go on his left foot and have a shot.

Superb pace to have the chance to have that shot - he just glides along with ease.

This is vintage Kylian Mbappe until the finish. He spins a defender on the halfway line and races towards the box. Nobody can catch him. His shot towards the top corner is parried away by Kasper Schmeichel, though.

Kylian Mbappe has the freedom to go basically where he wants - he ran past Olivier Giroud and then looked to get in behind. I think he should do that more often because that is a way that France can get in behind with the ability of Antoine Griezmann and his passes.

Almost a scare in the French defence. Martin Braithwaite is miles offside from Christian Eriksen's ball - but the flag is late as happens nowaways - and Dayot Upamecano does well to tackle him before they know for sure he was off.

Denmark might look like Lego but shots on goal are hardly stacking up for them.

    Two shots, neither on target.

Josh: Missed the first half of France Vs Denmark. If the rest of the tournament games are anything to go by it's either going to be a cracking second half or a dull 0-0

Kasper Schmeichel is super quick out of his box to stop Ousmane Dembele sending Kylian Mbappe in one on one. Excellent goalkeeping.

Apt really that Denmark are playing in a ground that looks as if it's made of Lego.

Almost lovely play. Kylian Mbappe finds Ousmane Dembele, who knocks the ball back into Mbappe with his first touch but Kasper Schmeichel gets there first.
