Spain, Jurgen Klinsmann has told the World Football in Qatar podcast
that “Spain is the team we fear the most from all the teams in the world.”
A second successive World Cup group stage exit would be “a
disaster times 10”, “a catastrophe” and “almost unforgivable”, the former World
Cup winner said.
I admire Hansi Flick a lot. He is a very good friend.
I was speaking to him at Wembley when they played England. He was worried about the focus on his side.
This World Cup is different with only a week's build-up. There is no time to build anything, and I suspect that is why we're seeing shocks.
Germany are a big team. They are under pressure. They will have to manage the stress tonight and decide on their approach.
I have not been impressed with a lot of the sides in this tournament because of the cautious style of their play.

This is a hard one to call. Germany are inconsistent but you can see the way Hansi Flick wants to play.
They will try to take the game to Spain but that is very dangerous.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague was another to appear on our 5 live World Cup preview show and he said Spain might struggle to score goals, but they have not made a bad start with seven in their first match.
I can see this ending a draw, which would not knock Germany out but leave them on the brink of a group-stage exit for the second successive World Cup.
Spain head coach Luis Enrique, however, expects a tough game against the under-pressure Germans.
"Without a doubt, they are the team that is most similar to Spain in terms of dominating the play and controlling it," he said.
"That is a beautiful challenge for us. I think it will be an open game."

Germany boss Hansi Flick says the World Cup game against Spain is a "first final" as they try to avoid another early exit at a major tournament.
A group-stage elimination in 2018 was Germany's earliest for 80 years and they reached the last 16 at Euro 2020.
After a shock 2-1 defeat by Japan in their opening game, another loss to Spain would seriously harm Germany's hopes of progressing in Qatar.
"The past two tournaments were not [good]," Flick said.
"We want to avoid a repeat of this. The focus is on concentration. This is the first final for us at the World Cup and that's what it's about - to avoid a repeat of that."

But then not many managers take to Twitch like Luis Enrique to address fans, something he has promised to keep doing as long as Spain are in the tournament.
When he was asked if players should be told not to have sex before games he said: ‘It’s ridiculous [to ban it[. It's something I consider totally normal.
"If you're at an orgy the night before a match then obviously that’s not ideal, but when I’m a club coach the players are at home the night before a game and it’s not something that worries me at all.
"If it’s something they do then it’s because they need to and want to. But I repeat with common sense! Each one with their partner. It’s normal. When I was a player if I was at home before a game, with my wife, well we did what we had to do."

This has gone from a must-win to a draw is actually a decent result and I think that will make such a difference phychologically.
You don't have to beat Spain to stay alive. You can even lose and have a chance. I think that will make it much easier for the players to deal with this pressure.
