Anon: Morocco giving me big “hugely surprising run to the semis, agonising defeat and concede fastest ever goal in the 3/4th play off” South Korea 02 vibes.

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

What's this? The Canadian players appear to think there's an issue with the ball and stop to allow a new one to be sent on to the pitch.

They're still trying to play their stuff and will do until the final whistle blows on their World Cup campaign, but Morocco look solid and organised behind the ball for now.

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

More than half of Croatia's attacking moves have started down the left.

Tottenham's Ivan Perisic and full-back Borna Sosa are making things happen for the 2018 runners-up.

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium
  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

Double save from Thibaut Courtois to keep his country in the World Cup.

He gets down to keep out Marcelo Brozovic and then Luka Modric.

Belgium are having to soak up a lot of pressure.

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

Patient build-up play from Canada despite the whistles being directed at them from around the stadium. A period of control for John Herdman's side. Can they make anything of this?

  6. 'Proper game'published at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC One

We've starting to look at a proper game now.

Kevin de Bruyne has got a bit more freedom now. He is the man that could get you through to the next stage so you've got to give him the keys to what he needs to do.

  7. 'Different team'published at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Belgium look a different team with Romelu Lukaku now. They have an outlet up front. Every time he gets the ball, there's a growing noise of anticipation from the fans behind the goal Belgium are attacking. Kevin de Bruyne must have played at least four one-twos with him already since half-time.

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Two

We've seen Saiss for Wolves playing in various positions including in midfield. He's playing at the back here and he is very commanding. I was very surprised to see him leave Wolves, they don't look any better for it.

  9. Postpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

Intricate play between Azzedine Ounahi and Achraf Hakimi to the right of the box but they run out of room and Canada are able to clear. There's a great noise in the stadium again for the start of this second half, it just feels and sounds like a World Cup match should.

  10. Postpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

This is already a much better game. Much quicker pace, more chances...

After Romelu Lukaku goes close at the other end, Croatia respond through Mateo Kovacic who forces a fine save from Thibaut Courtois.

At last, we have a game!

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on BBC Two

Canada are very adaptable but I feel they are almost beating themselves with the way they keep changing the system.

  12. Postpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

    Jermaine Jenas
Former England midfielder on BBC One

Already Kevin de Bruyne knows what he needs to do, trying to find his big man up top.

Good start to the game for Romelu Lukaku, he's making himself a nuisance.

  13. Postpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

Youssef En-Nesyri collects a long ball forward and does well to hold up play and let his Moroccan team-mates stream forward. The ball is worked to Hakim Ziyech, who attempts a curled effort from outside the box but Milan Borjan is able to catch without any issues.

  14. 'He's got it all to do'published at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a move that he was going to have to make at some point. Lukaku is not match fit, barely back into training after so many hamstring injuries this season and struggling for form and fitness so he's got it all to do.

  15. Postpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

He's only been on the pitch three minutes and Romelu Lukaku is already making a nuisance of himself. A chance from close range for the No 9 but he heads it into the hands of Dominik Livakovic.

  16. 'Big cheer'published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

    Emma Sanders
BBC Sport at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Oooh. A big cheer for Romelu Lukaku's introduction. He wasn't looking too impressed on the bench throughout that first half.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Croatia 0-0 Belgium

Lukaku has come on for Dries Mertens. Imagine if Lukaku scores the goal that keeps Belgium in the World Cup...

  19. 'Davies has to trust Canada team-mates'published at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

    Ashley Williams
Former Wales captain on BBC One

Canada need to deal with Morocco a bit better than they have. They need to get their good players on the ball like Davies, get the ball to feet where he wants it.

Morocco just keep doing what they're doing. Davies knows this is the last game, he wants to show what he can do but he just needs to be a little bit more patient and trust that his team-mates will find him.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2022

    Canada 1-2 Morocco

Morocco want to keep things as they are. Canada don't want to go home empty handed.

Who will get their way in the second half?

    Back under way!
