Daniel Amartey gifts Portugal a free-kick with a silly foul. They're in no hurry to take this.

To those who need to hear it, scoring a penalty is hardly 'silencing the critics'. He's a shadow of the player he used to be.

Bruno Fernandes is only the second Portugal player with two assists in a World Cup game, after Jose Torres vs Brazil in 1966.

Two superbly-weighted passes for Joao Felix and Rafael Leao to help put this game beyond Ghana's reach.

Well, maybe not totally beyond their reach after what just happened...

Ronaldo, sitting on the bench, had a look of disgust when Ghana scored their second. Not happy at all.

I don't know what to expect next in this game. Goals are coming out of nowhere.

It's a harmless ball down the channel, a decent cross and header. But how easy is that for Ghana.

Bukari was unmarked completely - it was almost like Portugal were statues.

    It's a bizarre game.

A roar goes up in the Ghana end as nine added minutes are signalled. That's enough time for an equaliser and a winner!

Not sure if that was a penalty but scoring at 5 World Cups is ridiculous.. it will be a sad occasion when this World Cup ends knowing we will not see Ronaldo on the biggest stage again.

What a mad game. It's gone from a poor first 45 to a five-goal thriller.

I don't think the game has been a difference of this scoreline.

But there have just been a couple of situations where Ghana have lost their shape and control. Portugal have got the quality to punish you.

It would have been interesting if they had not made those mistakes.

    Osman Bukari

    This isn't over!

Substitute Osman Bukari takes advantage of some poor marking to head past the keeper. It's a good finish.

    Ghana are not done.

It's all about game management for Portugal now. They're making some changes and Cristiano Ronaldo is one of those coming off.

He's not leaving the ground early this time.

Ronaldo silences the critics yet again - how absolutely predictable. And that's coming from a Liverpool fan. #GOAT

    Portugal 3-1 Ghana

Joao Felix (23y-014d) and Rafael Leao (23y-167d) are the third and fourth-youngest players to score for Portugal at the World Cup, after Cristiano Ronaldo (19) in 2006 and Semoes (22) in 2006.

Just two minutes and 16 seconds between those two Portugal goals.

Tough to argue that they don't deserve to be ahead - as the Expected Goals graphic shows, Portugal have created by far the better chances in the game (xG: 1.86-0.44).

Now Cristiano Ronaldo is clean through with only the keeper to beat. Lawrence Ati-Zigi makes the save but it wouldn't have counted as the offside flag goes up.

  18. 'An unbelievable collapse'published at 81 mins

    Portugal 3-1 Ghana

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

    It's just an unbelievable collapse.

After how well they've done up to now. To concede two goals like that is so disappointing.

There was a bit more quality involved in this but Ghana lose the ball in the middle of the park again. And this is the difference now with Rafael Leao on the pitch. He has the ability and power to run past players.

The pass from Bruno Fernandes is timed to perfection and it's a really good finish with his right foot.

  19. 'A really poor goal to concede'published at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2022

    Portugal 3-1 Ghana

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It all comes from a mistake and it's a really poor goal for Ghana to concede.

They've concentrated and focused so well in this game but Thomas Partey loses the ball and all of a sudden Joao Felix is pulling away. Baba Rahman should cut the pass out but his body shape is all wrong and Felix is through.

Really composed finish but Rahman gets his positioning horribly wrong and they really do get punished.

    Rafael Leao

    Surely that's it?

Rafael Leao shows what an outstanding talent he is as he curls home a delicious finish to surely take the game out of Ghana's reach.

That's a wonderful goal by the substitute.
