Uruguay were lucky to get the chance because it was such a poor free-kick. But it arrives at the feet of Luis Suarez, right by the near post and it was hard for him to get the angle and wrap his foot around it.

The Uruguay subs have changed the pace of this match and Luis Suarez hits the side-netting from a tight angle. Hands on heads on the Uruguay bench.

    Again, so close.

Brilliant strike, first time, great power. He just tried to curl it into that far post. It was so close!

It was a brilliant effort from Maxi Gomez. A really clean, hard strike. Costa was diving but nowhere near it.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORK - Gomez (Uruguay)published at 75 mins

    Portugal 1-0 Uruguay

Almost a stunning introduction from Maxi Gomez. He gets a pass played to him on the edge of the box, strikes it first time and it is curling with Diogo Costa flinging himself at it.

But the ball bounces off the right upright and away. So close to an equaliser.

I've been disappointed with Darwin Nunez tonight. He hasn't brought the energy and movement that Uruguay desperately need so I'm not surprised he's been replaced.

Changes up front for Uruguay and it is Edinson Cavani and Darwin Nunez off, with Luis Suarez and Maxi Gomez coming on.

    Will that make the difference?

We mentioned there had been a protester running on to the pitch holding a rainbow flag earlier in the second half and we're just getting a bit more information.

Their T-shirt had "Save Ukraine" written on one side and on the back were the words "Respect For Iranian Woman".

With that formation change for Uruguay, Mathias Olivera has just come to life. He seems to know where he's at.

He was kind of in between at left wing-back, now he's left-back. He looks far more comfortable.
